what is the cutest kind of cat?

do you think?

DP has thus far nay nayed my suggestions of another baby, or a puppy.

a cat, however, I am relatively sure could be brought into the house without him even noticing (mainly cos i won't ask him to walk it in the rain).

i realise that this thread appears very shallow btw, i honestly wouldn't only choose a cat on how cute it is!

Oh, and that's not to say don't try rescues, btw. I would never have considered a pedigree cat if I'd been able to have the mogs.

yeah i have heard that. I think we'd be ok. we have a garden (does that matter for cats??), not on a busy road, i am around most of the time with the kids.
only thing that might go against us is that my youngest is only 2.5

I am rather partial to black & white cats. I had one for 16 years. She was my first 'baby' and I sort of named my dd after her Blush.

Thinking of adopting a new cat when dd is a bit older

I just popped into to say the cutest kind of cat is MY CAT, so there - but Ample, I will have to tell DH that: we are long-term TTCers and our puss is our baby - seriously, to a quite disturbing degree Hmm - and DH remarked the other day that if we do have a baby and it's a girl, she will be our second daughter Hmm Grin

You should get one of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=bengal+kitten&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&biw=1366&bih=643&tbm=isch&tbnid=iSFb2g4VZ5q6dM:&imgrefurl=www.bahiyabengals.com/clients.html&docid=TTTQblEmouVvmM&imgurl=www.bahiyabengals.com/kittens/lilykittens/gertrudeback3weeks.jpg&w=400&h=306&ei=5uMdT5ChJof04QSK_43dDQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=180&vpy=150&dur=1644&hovh=196&hovw=257&tx=150&ty=139&sig=116035986862439489357&page=3&tbnh=136&tbnw=177&start=45&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:18,s:45" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">these We have one and he's absolutely gorgeous, doesn't shut up and is a complete pain in the arse, but gorgeous! lol

Fluffy ginger ones always seem incredibly friendly. Get one for me as DH is allergic so I can't get one myself.

BelleDameSansMerci · 23/01/2012 23:10

OMG! That Bengal... Next cat lined up then.

thisisyesterday · 23/01/2012 23:18

one of mine is the cutest thing....long haired and thinks she is a dog. or a baby. certainly does not realise she is a cat, but she is just a common moggie who needed a home.

i dont think id buy a pedigree cat as beautiful as some of them are, due to the number of cute moggies who need a home.

ill do the same with my next woofer.

wildstrawberryplace · 23/01/2012 23:28

Burmese! From breeders website Lovely, intelligent cats with soft silky short hair. They really have personalities and communicate with you. Or maybe that's just my cats Wink

Mumleigh · 23/01/2012 23:32

My two Burmese Blues are the cutest ever. They follow me around all day and stroke my face when I cuddle them. They also play fetch!

SecretSquirrels · 24/01/2012 10:43

Cats are like babies in that you always think your own is the most adorable.
DS2 chose our kitten from a rescue centre with a great website. They have cute photos of every kitten and DS2 fell in love with the picture of kittensquirrels.

Hands down Birmans! Not as stupid as ragdolls but just as cuddly. We had two when I was a child - they never scratched us despite us putting dolls clothes on them, picking them up when they were sleeping, draping them over our shoulders etc etc. My mum would tell us to leave the poor things alone but we loved them so much we couldn't, and they honestly didn't seem to mind. They have the softest fur too. But they do like a good miaow!

OTheHugeManatee · 27/01/2012 15:16

Bengal. No contest. Their little spotty tummies!

They're a bit bonkers though Grin

Sluttybuttons · 27/01/2012 15:23

Mine are british shorthairs and are gorgeous. So laid back and good with the children. They are both house cats but dont really show any interest in outside anyway. Pics of them on my profile

DontCallMeBaby · 28/01/2012 19:56

Mine. :) They are black and white mogs of uncertain parentage, but they're very lovely - the vet even said one of them was too pretty to be a boy, which is a mad thing to say about a cat really, but I take compliments where I can get them, even if they are about my cats' looks. Their mother was small, and they've remained fairly small at 2.6, and have sweet little faces.

The cattery where they go occasionally also breeds ragdolls, and dear lord, when they handed DD a kitten to cuddle it was as much as I could do not to stuff it down my bra and run away as fast as my little legs could carry me ...

HeyMicky · 28/01/2012 20:01

I second wildstrawberryplace - Burmese are ace, super clever, chatty and affectionate. Can be a bit naughty but highly entertaining. They like men too, so will woo your DP. Mine is Half Burmese, half moggy - I think a posh Burmese mum got knocked up by her bit of rough Grin
