Does Anyone Else think Small Dogs Are Half Dog, Half Cat (lighthearted)

I'm the owner (servant) of a small fluffy dog. I've been working for him for 12 years now. I love the cat posts on here (never had a cat but starting to think my next pet might be one). The more I read about the cats the more I think small fluffy dogs are half dog, half cat.

I mean my dog certainly acts like furry royalty is horribly spoilt and incredibly bossy if he does not get his own way. He also can pull the funniest expressions. Totally distain as if saying the word 'peasant' at me with a sniff. Arrogant little walk like he's much taller than he is, assumes everyone wants to say hello to him.

He's also not much of a cuddler. If I try to get a cuddle he'll look at me like 'loser' or 'without a treat, I don't think so'.

I love reading how cats are so snooty and treat their owners like servants etc but I can't help feeling that small fluffy dogs are somewhat similar.

Does anyone else agree?

P.S. Actually this includes small dogs that are not fluffy too like Chihuahuas.

P.P.S. Bonus points if you post a picture of your wee darling.

That is a far more scary dog than my 50kg guarding breed is. If mine behaved like that, I wouldn't be able to keep her.

He is far scarier than my big dog, too. Fortunately, the rottweiler is easier to manage for many reasons, mostly, I can find basket muzzles that fit the rott safely and comfortably. The demon's nose is too short for a basket muzzle; they're either too big/loose to be effective, or they rub against his eyes.

Also, when you muzzle a rottweiler (or even walk him in a head collar), the types of parents/dog owners who let their children/dogs rush up to strangers without asking tend to give you a wide berth, allowing you enough space to safely socialise and desensitise your dog. Plus, a warning snap from a spaniel is highly unlikely to hurt my rott, much less kill him, so I don't feel the need to pick him up and thus reinforce his fear.

Other people treating the demon like a harmless teddy is the biggest hurdle to training and socialising him. We've resorted to buying him a harness that says "keep back, I'm a bitey cunt" in the hope the C word puts parents off letting their kids rush up to us because his "warning, I need space" one did fuck all.

This is Ash, he's known to our wide circle of friends as a Cog (cat-dog abbreviated) as he was raised by our Norwegian Forest cats and so gained a rather impressive list of cat traits, including ignoring us with his back turned to us, but an ear listening to what we're saying. Always in view of course, you can't ignore the servants where they won't know about it.

He's three quarters chihuahua and a quarter whippet. And has only started to behave in small dog like amounts when we got our second and third dogs. Who are definitely dogs!
