For most of his life, after he has been fed by one family member, he has tried to convince other family members that he hasn't had dinner yet. We've had him for 12 years so you'd think he would have given it up as a lost cause by now. On Tuesday DH fed him about half an hour early because he had to take DD to football training. However he didn't mention it to me. So bang on dinner time (the dog has the best internal clock of anyone I know) the dog asked for dinner and I fed him. 
I would normally have checked with DH, but because he'd left half an hour before dinner time and because DH knew I was in the house I assumed that he had assumed that I'd do it.
The dog has since re-doubled his efforts, because if it worked once ...
