Border Collie Question

I've put a deposit down for a Border Collie who was the runt of the litter. She is 8 weeks old today. I was sent a photo today and her head looks rather big, her legs short and her paws small. I've met both the parents and they are fine and her siblings are quite a bit bigger than the pup I am buying. Any thoughts?

Absolutely nothing wrong with her. They grow into their heads and paws

Psiaspops · 23/06/2023 19:37

Sorry should have said the paws will grow very quickly as will the legs

Ctme12 · 23/06/2023 19:37

Thank you

No problem. Our boy is 14 now and honestly I'm so happy for you that you're getting a border collie. They are such amazing dogs

Psiaspops · 23/06/2023 19:39

She's beautiful by the way, absolutely beautiful

Ctme12 · 23/06/2023 19:41

Have you got a name yet?

Outlookmainlyfair · 23/06/2023 19:46

Gorgeous! I can never predict with pups, but we had a border collie he was the most amazing dog and friend, we healthy and happy until suddenly he was not (aged 13). All unpredictable but so glad for every day we shared with him,

Ctme12 · 23/06/2023 19:48

Her name is Sadie which means Princess. I had a border collie growing up and I just love the breed

Looks fine and expect that there has been a vet check.

Ctme12 · 23/06/2023 19:52

Thank you for your message. Border Collies are amazing. Sorry, to hear you lost your boy.

Yes, she was vet checked today. I am picking her up tomorrow and I will also get her health checked next week

My neighbours took on the runt of a litter and at 12 it is still the oddest looking dog I've ever seen - they didn't have to pay anything though. Head too big, very short legs. Not a border collie and no major health problems that I'm aware of though.

BounceyB · 23/06/2023 20:02

Looks like a very cute border collie puppy. You won't regret it. I would do anything for my boy.

Ctme12 · 23/06/2023 20:02

Thank you

Thank you. She is adorable

She is teeny tiny for an 8 week old collie pup but I always seem to pick collies the size of donkeys.

They do vary a lot in size so you may have a lovely petite little girl or she could easily catch up with her siblings.

Enjoy - best dogs in the world

Ctme12 · 23/06/2023 20:52

Thank you. She is adorable and they are great breeds. I can't wait to get her home tomorrow.

She's very sweet. I also bought the runt and she's honestly the best dog. Very cuddly and no health problems whatsoever.

Does anyone think she might have dwarfism?

OP posts:
Triflenot · 23/06/2023 21:56

Have you actually seen the dog OP?
It looks as if it could be the angle that the photo was taken that makes the head look big.

Ctme12 · 24/06/2023 05:04

Yes I have seen her but it was three weeks ago. You could be right regarding the angle of the picture

Go and see her again?
