Today my dog was PTS. I feel a million different emotions but the main one is sadness. I miss him already.

No point in this post really, just feels comforting being around doggy people.

So awful loosing our 4 legged friends. Sending lots of hugs

Unsuredad123 · 06/01/2023 21:03

Had to do the same this time last year. Nothing easy about it

ellebelli · 07/01/2023 13:27

So sorry.
We had to PTS our 7yr old border in November.
We miss him and it is never a easy decision 😔
He had a brain tumour and suffered a massive heart attack.
I know many will be against this but we got a new puppy just before Christmas and he has brought laughter and joy back.

Floralnomad · 07/01/2023 19:08

Sorry for your loss 💐

Hey OP, I'm sorry to hear this.
I share your pain, having lost my boy on Monday.
It is a physical pain.

I've found talking to him still, helps, because just suddenly stopping everything I used to do, makes it more real he's not here.

I remember you, I posted. My boy was 14 too, if I'd got him to 20 it still wouldn't have been long enough. I've moved his bowls and blankets but can't bring myself to move his bed just yet. Yep, the pain is physical. Like nothing else!

I hope you're doing ok. Time is a healer, I just wish it would hurry up.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost our 8 year old lab very quickly and unexpectedly at the beginning of November. He was well one minute and then he wasn't. I think I was in shock for the first couple of days and I couldn't stop crying. Two months on and I miss him everyday but I don't cry every day and I've even in the last couple of days starting thinking about a pup around Easter time.

The initial grief passes and although it stays it does settle and I can now look at pictures and videos and smile at the memories instead of sobbing. Just a warning though - if you are on FB, then the memories section can be like a gut punch when you aren't expecting it.

That must have been really traumatic and shocking for you. Awful.

I hope a pup brings joy into the house for you.

Not on Facebook but my flippin phone keeps throwing photos at me!

I remember it well , our lab x was pts in the first lockdown we found out at 1pm she was seriously ill and she was pts at 4pm we had no clue before that . It's heartbreaking they leave such a massive gap in our lives . Hope you have people around you to help you xx
