Heartbroken

Today my dog was PTS. I feel a million different emotions but the main one is sadness. I miss him already.

No point in this post really, just feels comforting being around doggy people.

So sorry. It's juse awful. We lost our soul dog four years ago today and it completely floored me. I still miss him desperately.

We lost our girl Oct 11th last year and even now I cry, but it is getting easier. They are so loved and such a huge part of our family it’s a massive loss and a bereavement like any other.

I know it's a cliche but time is a great healer. One day you will be able to look at photos and smile at the memories instead of cry.

Its 5 years since I lost my dobie and I still shed the odd tear at a random fb memory that pops up. But mostly I remember her for all the fun times we had.

My boy had to be put to sleep on Monday 2nd Jan. I miss him so much. A perfect black lab-full of fun and love . His legs failed. Arthritis related. He was 10.

We lost our 15 year old a year lab just over a year ago- so are suddenly dogless after many years.

I'm so sorry. We're facing this in the near future, our 13 year old collie cross was diagnosed with lymphoma in November, he's been on steroids since. It had already spread to his spleen but it has now spread to his bladder. He's had a couple of wee accidents indoors and it's so hard to know when we should act. He's still eating and drinking and up for a walk but when his bladder control fails that will be time 😢

So very sorry for your loss. I've been there many times, and the pain we feel is ultimately a reflection of the unconditional love and joy we shared when our beloved dog was alive. I know everyone is different, but for me, I've always had to fill the gap by giving another a home fairly quickly. Sending healing thoughts your way.

I'm overwhelmed by the support 💜. Thank you all so much, it makes things a bit more bearable, knowing that others have felt this way and that in time I'll be ok.

I truly believe they loved us as much as we love them.
