Is your dog cuddly? Do they like affection?

Maggie (3 year old border collie) loves nothing more than sitting next to us on the sofa then leaning in for a cuddle. She even puts her ‘arms’ around us to hug us. It’s usually accompanied by sloppy kisses!

I have a working Lakeland who is very cuddly.
He sits on you and puts his front paws round your neck. We call it "clipping on" as he proper grips you 😂

We have a mini schnauzer. She is the cuddliest dog we have ever had. She throws herself down on whoever is sitting on the sofa. If you leave she moves to the next available knee. Loves to put her "arms" around your neck for a kiss first before settling down.

Exhibit A.

Cocker spaniel (another spaniel) who likes to be on/next to you 24/7. Cuddly doesn't even come close.

He thinks he's a lapdog or tiny puppy still and loves nothing more than snoozing in my arms

We have a beagle and she is lovely and sweet but very independent and not very cuddly. I think she would have made a good working dog.

My 9yo Rhodesian Ridgeback is nicknamed Shadow she’s currently lying on my feet with her head on a cushion, she’s another one who has to be touching me at all times. She is a total Velcro dog very needy gets very jealous if I talk to the cats, she’s most definitely a Mummy’s girl if I’m not in she goes to Daddy then it’s DD1. Although on a walk she does herd the family which I didn’t know RRs did.

We’re looking after a 10 year old beagle and he is the cuddliest dog I’ve ever met. He loves to be draped across your lap with his belly on show and getting belly strokes. He’ll paw you if you’re not dispensing the required fuss and affection.

He’s happy to be left on his own but if you’re around, you’re fair game. I love him ❤️

I have a cuddle monster, 50kg mastiff, who just wants cuddles and affection all the time 🤣

I lay on the floor with him and spoon him watching the TV , I have issues I know.

Springer and sprocker spaniels. Will hug and want to cuddle constantly. Until they want to sleep in which case they are off onto the floor.

No and it breaks my heart. My dog is an American Akita. He looks so floofy and cuddle-able but he hates it. Every so often, he follows me up to bed and we have a little play and snuggle on the bed but it's every other blue moon and lasts 5 mins.

Maggie is beautiful! Mine doesn’t really like to be properly cuddled, but if he’s tired he’ll snuggle up next to us.

My lurcher will get down off the sofa if you sit near him and huff and grumble and lie on the floor! Not a cuddly boy at all, but if he wants a fuss he will press his head into my tummy and make little happy noises while I scritch him. The few cuddles I do get feel very special because he really isn’t into it usually. I am hoping that if we ever get a second dog, or the next dog, will be cuddly!

My whippet is addicted to cuddles. He’ll ask randoms at the park for a cuddle. He’s such a soppy boy 😍

Yes, I've had 2 cuddly Lhasa Apsos. DB commented, "They're like cats" when he first met them. He's more used to cats.

I grew up with cats and my now almost 6 year old terrier is my first ever dog, I used to call him my catdog as he is so cuddly and cat like, my husband is unfortunately allergic to cats otherwise would love to have a cat and a dog to cuddle with😍
