My 9 month Labrador pup has pinched a cod fishcake off the kitchen worktop and has scoffed the lot.
I'm worried because it's raw fish
Has anyone any advice
Thank you

I wouldn’t worry, my DB (human) ate raw fishfingers with no ill effects.

MaChienEstUnDick · 15/08/2022 20:13

Raw fish is good for dogs. My friend's lab eats shit, so, ya know. Guts of steel.

My dog are raw fed and eat fish all the time.

Sapphirensteel · 15/08/2022 20:17

Labs will eat anything, whether it’s edible or not. If it’s not vomited it back then there’s nothing to worry about.
I seem to remember mine grabbing raw fish heads that a fisherman was using as bait. Lucky there were no hooks in them.

Sellie555 · 15/08/2022 20:17

Oh gosh nothing at all to worry about with raw fish! My lab eats far worse (rotting rat corpses for example) on his walks and it’s never caused him to be sick.

my lab ate a monster sized bag of Maltesers the other night. Stupid son left them Lying on his desk. I was really worried as I know choc is super bad for dogs but he was absolutely fine luckily

Dobbysgotthesocks · 15/08/2022 20:26

I've just fed mine raw fish for dinner! Raw food is probably the best diet for them!

Pup will be fine!

MissMaple82 · 15/08/2022 20:27

Bloody hell dogs eat far worse than a few bits of raw fish!

I don't think they're able to cook them in the wild first...

NoCureForLove · 15/08/2022 20:37

If it had onion in it then you might be worried...

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 15/08/2022 20:44

Your pupper will be fine. Raw fish is a healthy snack for them!

iklboo · 15/08/2022 20:48

I'm sure if you trace ancestry back far enough labs are related to goats. They will eat anything.

BiteyShark · 15/08/2022 20:51

It's funny isn't it how we worry about what our dog eats whilst forgetting all the unmentionable rotten stuff they scavenge on a walk 😀

They eat cat shit, they'll be fine.

Come back after he’s scarfed his first mouse/rat/rabbit/squirrel, packet of bourbons, bowl of defrosting mince, (beautifully decorated) victoria sponge cake, bacon sandwich, packet of scotch eggs, lasagna etc etc 😂

Yes mine has had rotten dear head, rotten dear leg (we live near the forest), rotten rabbit, rotten mouse, lots of cow/deer/horse poo.

Then we move to drinks. The favourite is usually stagnant pools of water that god knows what has been in it with a layer of scum on top. Sometimes he pisses and drinks from the same water at the same time which is nice!!!!

Trulyweird1 · 15/08/2022 21:12

My male lab has scoffed many disgusting things in his 12 years on the planet, but was utterly floored by his first Puppacino the other week.
Let’s just say the cafe owner will ask before thrusting one in a random dog’s face next time 🤮🤮🤮

catwithflowers · 15/08/2022 21:13

Ours (7 months) ate a good portion and uncooked apple crumble yesterday and half a chicken Caesar salad a few weeks ago. 🙈😳

He is showing no ill effects (apart from looking very pleased with himself). Your lab will be fine 😊
