Not sure I can do this much longer - puppy regret

Pup is 16 weeks.

She just won't get weeing outside. It's making me so stressed and anxious. She seemed to be getting it but has regressed.

The mouthing too. We can't spend time together as family as if DS is in the room she's biting him, if he's not there it's me. Distraction no longer works. She barely touches DH.

I'm at the point where I just don't want to spend time at home. I'm crying a lot, feeling suicidal (though tbf that's not new, it's menopause, this has just made it worse).

I knew it would be hard but I didn't appreciate how much life would change. I've never regretted anything more than getting this dog.

I don't know what I want from this post. Reassurance that I will start to love the dog and that things will get better maybe.

@regrett how are you and your puppy doing?
I found your post and the replies really helpful as we are going through this atm and it’s so nice to read that I’m not alone.

Have you tried putting the puppy pad in the garden, where you would like her to wee? When we had our pup, puppy pads weren’t a thing, we used newspaper. It worked for our dog, used the paper a few times and then would happily wee outside without the paper.

Puppies are really hard work, handhold OP. Our dog was absolutely gorgeous, but he did damage items too. He was pts at 13.

We have never got another dog, from time to time, we think shall we get another. But due to my health (I have MS) I really don’t think, I could cope. Although I absolutely love dogs.

I had the most difficult GSD puppy - literally did not sit still for a second but he has become the most easy going/flexible dog in the world. We didn't do anything spectacular in terms of training just the standard stuff.

He just chilled with time, pretty dramatically at the time as well.

ALso, have you considered the pup may be overstimulated? We bought every kong toy available and now realised he just was getting enough sleep, poor thing.

Buy lots of chew toys, kong toys for treats, and keep taking her out in the garden every half hour or an hour at least. X
