Dogs really are too precious for this world

The cost of living crisis all got on top of me today and o ended up on tears trying to sort a bill on the phone in my freezing cold house. As soon as o got off the phone, I burst into tears and our dog immediately jumped up and licked all my tears way and squashed me in a sort of doggy hug. Then he gave me his favourite ball and didn’t even expect me to throw it for him. Of course this made me cry even more! I’m ok now, thanks to him but he’s still sticking close to me just to make sure.

He’s never seen anyone cry before except me in the very early days of puppy hell but he knew exactly what to do!

I love him so damn much 🥰🥰🥰.

That is so sweet. Especially him getting the ball.

Ours knows if you are feeling a bit not quite right. ILs had her for the day last week and FIL not feeling great, he said she led him upstairs for a nap and he fell asleep with her head on his chest. And woke up feeling so much better.

Frillyfruli · 05/04/2022 16:20

We don't deserve dogs! DH has recently gone back to the office and Ddog is so sad and mopey (I am very obviously the second favourite human)...but every day when he comes home she loses her mind and runs all round the house trying to find her favourite chewy bone to give him, it's the cutest.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now OP Flowers

That is so adorable. Dogs are amazing, they are so in tune with people. I always wish that we humans could understand dogs as well as they understand us.

I hope your dog's love for you is helping you through this tough time.

LadyCatStark · 05/04/2022 16:43

Awww I love the other stories of loving dogs 🥰. He certainly is @certainshepherdpups and if nothing else, he keeps me warm on the sofa that he’s not allowed on 🙈.

@LadyCatStark that's so sweet. Mine would prob just bark at me - usual situation at mo Hmm

Gherkingreen · 05/04/2022 17:13

That's so delightful. We definitely don't deserve dogs. Mine senses stress or sadness in us and either climbs up on my knee and wraps his neck around mine, or squeezes himself between our feet looking up with puppy eyes.
He's so intuitive but we feel bad that he picks up on our stress and guilty that he feels it's his job to make it better Halo

Trulyweird1 · 05/04/2022 17:25

That’s so lovely. My dog is like this. As I was breaking my heart at my mum’s cancer diagnosis, he came and lay his head on my chest , and just stared at me with this beautiful eyes.
He lay by her bed near the end, within patting distance if she felt like it.
Just the best 🥰🥰🥰

Gherkingreen · 05/04/2022 20:13

This thread is making me well up at the sweetness of dogs. They're the best

LadyCatStark · 05/04/2022 21:08

Awww they’re all just so lovely 🥰.
@Aria20 were very lucky that he’s not a barker! He barks once to go out, once to come back in and once if his ball gets too close to the tv cabinet as he’s scared of it 😂. When all of our neighbours’ dogs start barking at each other, he comes inside on disgust 😂 he’s such a softy!

@Gherkingreen mine does the wrapping his neck around mine thing to give a hug too! It’s amazing that they know just what to do to cheer us up. I do feel bad that he knew I was upset but he got extra cheesies for being the best good boy!

Dogs are truly precious. Mine cuddle me when I'm poorly, which is often but the one time that stood out to me was 6 years ago a family issue brought me to my knees and I sobbed my heart out. My little yorkie got on my lap and cried too! I felt so guilty that I had upset her so much. She is my shadow though and probably felt insecure herself at that time. But her and my Jack Russell are so so kind and loving xx

NotADressPerson · 05/04/2022 21:32

This is making me want a dog! So beautiful 💕
I have two cats who are lively but you know, selfish 😂😊

NotADressPerson · 05/04/2022 21:32

*lovely

Whiskeypowers · 05/04/2022 23:10

My dog cuddles me. She gets up on her hind legs and literally puts her front legs around my neck and snuggles in. She licks my tears away and whenever I am unwell or unhappy she just squishes into me and doesn’t leave my side.
She is my best friend. I am so lucky to have her.

I have 4 cats too. Yep they are selfish and only seem to want to sit on my lap for a fuss when I'm doing something else 😂
Forestcantrun · 06/04/2022 09:06

They're the best. When I was quite unwell a few months ago mine literally stuck himself to my side.
I've a very stressful job (who doesn't) and he waits at the door at night time, hips wiggling and all delighted to see me.
They are the best.

Ah I dunno! I have four cats who are arseholes but they know when I need them. They like to stand in front of my car when I return home. That's...Fun.

All of our pets are precious 💖

StooOrangeyForCrows · 06/04/2022 09:12

They are pure souls. I can't have another after losing my last one. I just can't go through that again in this life.

hiredandsqueak · 06/04/2022 09:18

Oh such a sweet dog they really are the best. I've had to insist dd closes her bedroom door as Bella seems to think the teddies on her bed are her puppies and then spends much of the night fretting when she can't get to them. Pikachu is obviously the runt of the litter as that one is always shoved out of bed Grin

FiveShelties · 06/04/2022 09:18

My eyes are leaking reading all these lovely stories. I cannot imagine my life without all the lovely dogs and cats we have had - they have made our lives so good.

Wishimaywishimight · 06/04/2022 09:19

Any chance of some lovely doggie photos? I have serious dog envy - would so love to have one (specially now as my darling dad died recently and I am crying a lot and would love some furry hugs) but can't due to work.

BoodleBug51 · 06/04/2022 09:24

I had Covid in December, days after having my booster and flu jab. I felt so so rough for the 1st few days of it, and my dogs literally never left my side. My older boy (whom DH accepts is the absolute love of my life) just kept looking at me with his head tilted to the side as if to say "what's going on Mum". I've never felt more loved than by my 2.

Hop27 · 06/04/2022 09:39

I have a completely love nugget of a staffy, soft as butter but 18kg of pure lean muscle. During lockdown, there were reports of a man following women around when they were out walking alone, acting suspiciously. I was out with her alone during the day and ahead of us were two young teens walking maybe 25 meters in front. Creepy man was hiding (yes hiding) between 2 parked cars and jumped out to follow the young teens. My dog lost her shit, barking like an utter maniac and running towards the creepy man - who then obviously completely shit himself by a staffy apparently about to rip his leg (or cock) off at the earliest opportunity and he ran off, like the coward he was. As soon as he'd legged it, she was back to her usual happy love nugget self and we walked the girls home.
I've never been SO proud of my girl. We don't deserve dogs.

That’s scary @Hop27. Well done to your girl! Billy has only every done low warning woofs at 2 men, I wonder what it was he didn’t like about them?
