Hello everyone,
A bit of a random one but I've really got into art recently, I painted all my own Christmas cards, my favourite subject to paint though is animals - especially dogs! A few members of family/friends have said I should try and sell my artwork, I was thinking of making a few little greeting cards and seeing how it goes!
I have a few obvious breeds in my head to trial first but I just wondered if you lovely bunch could tell me the breeds you think would be most "popular" I guess! Or even some breeds you think need more recognition that I could look up some references for and try!

Thank you for reading, I didn't realise how long this was going to be!

@WeAllHaveWings

If you look at the 10 yearly breed statistics on the kennel club you will be able to work out the most popular pedigree breeds on there. Obviously wont include cross/mixed breeds.

Always shocks and saddens me the growth in the French bulldog ☹️, yet I dont know anyone who owns one and very very rarely see any getting walked in our area, maybe they are popular in some regions more than others.

I know someone who has a French bulldog puppy - she paid £4,500 for it and won't let it out into the garden or take it out for walks in case it's dognapped. Feel very sorry for the dog. Maybe they're so expensive that people who buy them all feel like this and that's why you don't see many about...?

OP, your card is lovely - is that coloured pencils or paint that you've used? I paint animal portraits and the dog breeds I get asked to do most are Labs and cockapoos with a few pointy-eared terriers thrown in the mix as well. When I go to craft fairs and things, it's usually the spaniel type paintings that people go for. My favourites to do though are gundogs (I have a Weimaraner) and setters.

Oh my gosh @abbey44 that is sad about the dog! Poor thing!

And thank you! It's just watercolour! ☺️ I've used acrylics to paint my MILs labs and enjoyed that and I've also painted jack russells before, watercolour is something I'm fairly new to but I enjoy all the layers!

There’s someone with a boxer locally. Her little face is so grumpy it’s hilarious to look at

She’s a wiggly bum so whilst her bum is going love me love me!!! Her face is going “back the fuck off” Grin
