Please let me know your top 5 breeds (Art Related)

Hello everyone,
A bit of a random one but I've really got into art recently, I painted all my own Christmas cards, my favourite subject to paint though is animals - especially dogs! A few members of family/friends have said I should try and sell my artwork, I was thinking of making a few little greeting cards and seeing how it goes!
I have a few obvious breeds in my head to trial first but I just wondered if you lovely bunch could tell me the breeds you think would be most "popular" I guess! Or even some breeds you think need more recognition that I could look up some references for and try!

Cockapoos, cockapoos and more cockapoos. Someone recently said to me that it was nice to see a proper breed dog.

Do you want the most popular breeds (that will be labs and staffies then with a smattering of poodle crosses and French bulldogs) or do you want the most attractive ones?

The most popular dogs around here are:
Cockapoos
Cocker spaniels
Labradors
Collies
French bulldogs

If you look at the 10 yearly breed statistics on the kennel club you will be able to work out the most popular pedigree breeds on there. Obviously wont include cross/mixed breeds.

Always shocks and saddens me the growth in the French bulldog ☹️, yet I dont know anyone who owns one and very very rarely see any getting walked in our area, maybe they are popular in some regions more than others.

@doggosaremyfav - one more idea - I have two charcoal drawings of my border terriers by a talented woman - she met them in the park and then took photographs - you can tell which is which even though the same breed - perhaps you could try painting some & compared to the actual dog and see how that goes. A personal opinion only - but I would not want a painting / drawing of any old Border terrier , would prefer one of mine . Anyway - just a thought.

My personal picks for appealing aesthetics and cuteness would be

English bulldog
Chow chow
Pug
Shiba inu
Pomeranian

But in terms of mass appeal/popularity I’d say

Generic scruffy pointy-terrier in a few colour variations
Labrador
Poodle/cockapoo
French bulldog
Staffy/bully type

Pointy ears I mean

Oh and dachshunds a lot of them about

American Pocket Bully (random I know but I find them oddly cute )

Giant Schnauzer; Standard Schnauzer; Great Dane; Giant poodle but only in black; Russian Terrier

Dalmatian
Staffy (black and white)

Five varieties of scruffy little terrier 😍

Westies
Black labs
Shih Tzu
Yorkies
German Shepherd

These aren’t a list of my favourites but popular breeds where colour and markings aren’t so distinctive as to prevent friends and family identifying a painting with their dog. I also think owners of some of these breeds are more likely to be receptive to a picture.

Have a look at Emma Bridgewater. They do breed specific items + general breed. Personally I'd love a Borzoi, greyhound, whippet running flat out 😍. Glorious dogs and my absolute dream .

I agree with a PP that said some people would prefer a drawing/painting of their own dog but as I'm just starting out I'd be too confused to offer that service 😂 my aunt recently asked me to make a card for her niece and sent along photos of her puppy which gave me the idea!

I've inserted the card I'm talking about, this is probably where people will say "sorry love you're not good enough" 😂
