What breed is my DDog?

Hi All. We adopted this beautiful rescue boy last week. We were told he is a lab x hound. He is 9 months old, very friendly, great with my children, gentle and loves his food. I’ve only ever had labs before so I know this boy isn’t a full lab but I’m starting to wonder if there’s ANY lab in him! What do you think?

Those ears and nose are lab and those gorgeous eyes

It's the white tail tip which makes me think foxhound (or similar) rather than the solid coloured vizla or Weimaraner.

Hi All. Yes I thought Weimaraner crossed with lab because of the colour of his eyes but then the colour eyes could be a Dudley lab. Yes I agree he is very gorgeous and an absolute cuddle monster. I’m just worried about training him to go off leash if he has serious prey drive. We live beside the beach and forests and am used to letting my dogs off but as labs they had excellent recall. Thanks for all your replies :)

His breed is "Pawsome". Widely regarded as the best breed ever! He is adorable!

FYI you can also get doggy dna tests to find out what he really is.

I was going to say labxhound before I saw that's what you had already been told.

You won't be able to tell without a DNA test, they're not that expensive. He looks like a lab x hound though.

Definitely has Bracco markings, but just not the ears.

I would have said Weim x based on the eyes, but he has that white tail tip and the ghost of a stripe up his nose. Maybe foxhound? Or Pointer?

I would say lab cross too. This is my lab for reference.

Exactly what I thought. I've given it lots of thought too because we have a lab and live next-door to a very lusty Bracco Italiano!

Sounds like he’s a bit of everything but got all the good genes! Must have a look at the DNA test. I’m
quite curious to find out what he is so I can ensure he gets what he needs for his breed(s)! He certainly walks with his nose to the ground but is also super friendly and wants to be everyone’s friend, like my last lab.

@JoyForChocolate - what a beauty! I’ve had two black labs and a chocolate so the golden is all new to me!

He’s lovely! Looks very much like mainly Vizla x Lab I think. Could he have a hint of beagle too, giving the white tail and face markings?

Definitely a lot of HPR in there, maybe english pointer with the markings.
He will need physical exercise, mental stimulation and so so much recall work.
