Just interested!
We've had our shih tzu three weeks now. I love the fact he's chilled out, doesn't yap, chew or moult. He loves to be with people.
But apart from the moulting that might just be his personality!
What breed do you have any why?

Greyhound x 2. They’re super chilled.

Jackapoo. Jack part because my parents have her uncle and he is a lovely dog. poo because I wanted a low shedding dog. She is a total star, 10 years old and people regularly ask if she is a puppy.

nancybotwinbloom · 24/08/2021 20:28

@ladygindiva

He's just lovely.
He is so protective of me and my Dd.
He was a rehome. He's Just fitted right in with us he even gets in the hot tub in his float.

Have a pomeranian cross Jack Russell . Have had Jack Russells before.
We think he has all the worst traits of both breeds. We love him dearly and dread anything happening to him.

HettyMagda · 24/08/2021 20:29

Two Labradors. One I've had since 8 weeks old an the other a rescue. I've had one Labrador before th we two and I suppose it's just what I 'know'.

We have a pug because:

(1) I definitely wanted a small dog that requires relatively little exercise, is portable and can live in our small house with a medium garden;
(2) the only breeder I personally knew through my daughter's teacher (who had two dogs from her) only bred pugs;
(3) pugs have a reputation for being very friendly and laid back;
(4) my daughter always wanted one.

Picture of our beautiful boy attached. He's my second baby.

We have a pug and she is adorable, had her from a pup, she is now 8yrs old and part of the family, she is great with children, perfect family dog. We chose a pug because of the nature of the breed and because they are so cute.

cheeseisthebest · 24/08/2021 20:51

I love these answers! I want all the dogs!

We have a Staffy because dp wanted one and I had already got my way and we had 3 cats so I suppose it was his turn!

She's our second rescue and a spoilt diva and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I really like small terriers. I have a small terrier. She's a Norfolk so they don't come much smaller

I have a yorkie Grin. Don’t think he’s ever met one smaller than him!

I wanted a trainable, easy to care for, alarm dog. He’s a fab wee dog and I often get people (including a judge at a fun dog show!) say they always thought they disliked yorkies but mine changed their mind.

St Bernard because we visited a local family with a puppy. They are fantastic dogs. Loveable. Want to be at your side. She's calm, great with the children, and loves people and other dogs. Doesn't need walked miles. She is fine with two 30 minute walks per day.

XelaM · 24/08/2021 21:06

@PwySyddYma Love the story Grin

HarrisMcCoo · 24/08/2021 21:09

Grouchy your Newfie is adorable 😍

MumofSpud · 24/08/2021 21:10

A springer spaniel
We wanted a dog that would get us off the sofa!!

bigbaggyeyes · 24/08/2021 21:10

Border terrier. She's the happiest, friendliest dog I've ever come across. Intelligent with a massive personality. She'll walk for miles and miles, up and down mountains, or is happy to curl up on your lap all day with a short play in the garden.

Debetswell · 24/08/2021 21:15

I have allergies.
I have a Keeshond because they have coats like sheep, their fur will actually spin into wool.
So no allergy.

Whattodo121 · 24/08/2021 21:20

I’m staring at our 16 week old border collie puppy who’s asleep on the other sofa looking gorgeous. We picked the breed because DH and DS were desperate to have one to accompany them on their adventures. (Outdoorsy walking things). She was house trained in about 48 hours, and is an absolute joy-she is affectionate and funny and has such a personality. She’s such a good playmate for DS, they’ve already made up loads of games together in the garden and it’s lovely to see them dash about ❤️

BirdyBee · 24/08/2021 21:22

Because he was £40 on free adds when they existed, so tiny, underweight, the guy couldn't wait to get rid, and I knew i could give him a home he deserved, almost 11 years later, he's a grumpy old boy but me and the kids adore him, best £50 I ever spent!

momager1 · 24/08/2021 21:23

standard poodles. may i present... our old gal Lexi and our younger one Grace.

MadMadMadamMim · 24/08/2021 21:24

We've got a Cocker Spaniel. We've had loads of spaniels; I like Cockers best, DH prefers Springers, but we've had several of each. DH has trained gundogs all his life and has also had German Pointers, Labradors and a couple of other breeds, I think.

We used to have a Welsh Border Collie on the farm, who was trained and used as a sheep dog.

The current Cocker is a show breed and the laziest article I've ever met! I'm desperately fond of him, but he's the only Spaniel I've ever had who prefers to lie in til lunchtime and is fairly reluctant to go out for a walk.

BirdyBee · 24/08/2021 21:24

£50 as the guy asked for £10 petrol to drop him off as I don't drive

XelaM · 24/08/2021 21:28

@BirdyBee Awwww what a lucky boy

RevealTheHiddenBeach · 24/08/2021 21:29

Mongrelly lurcher - we wanted a hound as they are big walk/big sleep. She'll happily lie in til 10am, loves a day long walk but is just as good on a quick dash around the park, happy being left, and not food mad. We luffs her.

We’ve got a Shina Inu, I wanted a fairly independent dog. Hes the neediest bugger in the world who hates being left alone, he is extremely cute.

Purplecatshopaholic · 24/08/2021 21:31

A podenco - a Spanish sighthound, bred for hunting. He was a rescue. Wanted a sighthound, and originally thought lurcher or greyhound., until I discovered podencos. Hes large, very lazy, sweet, loving and adores me. It’s mutual.
