Anyone else's dog refused to go out today?!

My diva dog took one look at the weather and hid Grin. She eventually consented to a 25min wee/poo walk in the morning and 20 mins this afternoon, while it was raining. But looked very cross about it! This is a girl who likes a couple of hours a day off lead!
Not looking forward to trying to get her out for a last wee later!

I can imagine my dog being like this when she's older. We let her out for a wee in the garden on a morning shel walk to the door and if the weathers bad she'll walk away when we get her back she'll just get all wiggly and refuse to go out. very funny really. She does love her walks though no matter what the weather.

StillMedusa · 20/01/2021 21:49

Mine's only 20 months old!!! But a total diva....

Ours is 14 months. Doesn't like rain, wind, the cold, the dark or her coat.
Loves however the new ddog beds...

CherryRoulade · 20/01/2021 21:57

No, ours will be outside running regardless of weather. Dives through dense brambles, jumps walls and barbed wire, nothing stops her setting on a pheasant.
Our Dalmatian would look at it drizzling and resist movement until he got going.

LMNOPEE · 20/01/2021 21:58

My boy, who has been toilet trained for years has just decided its better to PISS ON MY STAIRS than go out in this. Thanks, boy.

Syrrup · 20/01/2021 23:31

Hahaha nope, mine still wants to walk for three hours. However because it's nice and windy he also wants to stop every 5m to sniff the wind and have a look around at ALL THE THINGS which are moving, taking at least 5 minutes for each stop. Rain is great fun but the second we add soap to water it's clearly an attempt to kill him Hmm

Millypaige29 · 20/01/2021 23:32

Haha mine was hesitant aswell 😂

CoffeethenCrochet · 20/01/2021 23:50

Yep! Ddog refused to go outside this morning. DH carried her outside at 1pm as he was fed up with my failed attempts trying to convince her to go outside to toilet Hmm she refused a walk so we let her win that one. Tomorrow she will have an enforced walk Grin

Millypaige29 · 20/01/2021 23:51

Haha aww so cute

SatsumasOrClementines · 20/01/2021 23:54

Yes! Picked up the lead and he ran and hid! Had to carry him outside in the end.

Millypaige29 · 20/01/2021 23:56

Aww what doggy do you have?

Aurea · 21/01/2021 00:03

I swear my girl tiptoes over the wet grass as she doesn't like her paws getting wet. 😂

AuntyPasta · 21/01/2021 00:10

Mine was sitting outside in the rain, refusing to come in.

Millypaige29 · 21/01/2021 00:11

Haha aww that’s so cute! I have a Alsatian called billy

pigsDOfly · 21/01/2021 00:12

My dog likes windy weather as long as it's not too windy.

We managed to get a walk in today as it stopped raining just after 2 and kept off until just before 3.

I put a coat on her so her long fur wasn't too blown about and we had a lovely walk for about 45 minutes - she's nearly 10 years old and small so that was a good walk.

She was running through the wind and bounding around and just didn't want to go home. We passed the house a couple of times on the last bit of the walk but she just kept going.

She also went out this evening for her last wee and it's very windy and raining now. Although, she didn't hang around, just did her wee and came back indoors.

Oddly enough, she hated rain when she was younger but seems to quite like it now.

Catsup · 21/01/2021 00:19

My dog refuses to go out in bad weather, we have the 'pretend' to go for a wee by walking round the corner of the house then bombing back in. This results in me also having to stand outside in the rain as moral support. Generally they'll then make a dash to hide under a bush at the bottom of the garden which means me plodding after them, and using the washing pole to poke them out 😐

Pipandmum · 21/01/2021 00:25

If one of my dogs is being pathetic I break up a few biscuits and throw them outside and they go running out. Once out they also will go for a pee. They don't seem to mind a walk though unless really raining buckets then they both look at me like I'm crazy.

Happymum12345 · 21/01/2021 00:37

I go for a run with my dog everyday and she normally loves it. Today I looked like a crazy woman, dragging a soaking wet ball of fluff alongside me. I’ll leave her at home if this bad again!

SittinOnTheDockOfTheBay · 21/01/2021 00:41

I have an old lab. He gets out of bed, walks over to the window to check the weather, if the weather isn't to his liking he gives me a look of disdain (as I'm standing there with my coat on and the lead in my hand), goes back to his bed and closes his eyes. He will only go out in bad weather if he really needs the loo and he makes it quick 😁.

Sitdowncupoftea · 21/01/2021 14:53

No unfortunately not. Mine love bad weather. It started sleeting at midnight they both laid out in it to sleep. I brought them in about 2am.

FanFckingTastic · 21/01/2021 14:58

I have a miniature Daschund. She NEVER wants to go outside if the weather it bad. She can literally hold a wee until the sun is shining again. She is very much a fair-weather hound....

Branleuse · 21/01/2021 15:03

no, mine were happy to go out, but then again its 8 degrees in essex and dry and calm........ for now

drinkingwineoutofamug · 21/01/2021 15:12

Mine refused to go out yesterday. About 9ish last night she's bouncing to go out, woofing
Snow
How did she know it was snowing. She loves snow.
Happy to bounce about last night. I'm stood in my pjs and slippers trying to coax her in!
Today , 2 hours playing with her doggie friends whilst us dog slaves stood with travel mugs full of tea freezing our bollocks off.

BachelorDog · 21/01/2021 18:30

Mine. He LOVES his walks but yesterday he was reluctant to get out the car for the 6.30am one. Too cold, rainy, dark and wintery.

Today, he didn't budge when the alarm went off, so we skipped it and just went for the later one.

(He is otherwise fine and energetic for the rest of the day so I am comfortable he is not sick)

Chocolateandamaretto · 21/01/2021 19:38

Nope, my boy loves any opportunity to swim in the mud Grin however he doesn’t like getting his paws wet when you let him out for his last wee at night so he always looks a bit forlorn when you usher him into wet grass lol
