The doghouse

Anyone else's dog refused to go out today?!

My diva dog took one look at the weather and hid Grin. She eventually consented to a 25min wee/poo walk in the morning and 20 mins this afternoon, while it was raining. But looked very cross about it! This is a girl who likes a couple of hours a day off lead!
Not looking forward to trying to get her out for a last wee later!

We've got an 18 month old cocker/terrier cross. We were warned how high energy he'd be. He point blank refused to walk yesterday, locked his legs and wouldn't budge. Spent the day mooching about the house and sleeping.

Oh yes, mud.

What is it with some dogs and mud?

I see so many people walking with their dogs on the pavement but for my dog a walk just isn't a walk without mud.

She just wants to get to the muddy places and bury her paws in it. And if she's playing with her ball, every time she catches it she throws herself down in the mud, rolls over and kicks her feet around just for the sheer joy of it.

Yes last 2 nights have been savage
He’s come out for a walk at normal time spent it trying to hide his sorry arse under a tree refused to “go” then shit on the floor over night.

Do not want that repeated tonight

Yup... one look at the weather shakes his head and retreats back to his box.... have to carry him bodily out!!!!

We are keener on the mud than him.... but once we get to the park he does enjoy himself... but goes on strike after about 20 mins in weather like this.... 2 circuits is plenty and normally we cant drag him away!

Yeah, mine’s been reluctant this week. He is not at all keen on heavy rain and point blank refuses to walk if I put his coat on him. We go far enough for him to wee and pop and then he turns around and heads for home. Normally he’s a 5 mile hound!
