Hi
Can anyone please help, looking for a Beagle Dog, anyone got one or know of one free to good home or can pay a little amount to right Beagle.
Must be a tri colour.

OP posts:
withmycoffee · 20/01/2021 20:48

why must it be tri colour?

TiredUselessHopeless · 20/01/2021 20:52

How experienced are you with these types of dog? Scent hounds are pretty full on.

raspberrysundaes · 20/01/2021 20:54

I have a beagle. Why are you after one and why does it have to be tricolour?

Your best bet would be looking at rescues but beagles are scenthounds and are incredibly full-on. They're not for novices or the faint of heart!

Wolfiefan · 20/01/2021 20:54

You want someone to hand you a free dog?
Really?
Never mind the colour bollocks. Angry

Bluntness100 · 20/01/2021 21:09

What why do you want a free tri colour beagle? Do you weirdly think someone will just give you one? Do you want to breed it?

Yes that’s right, advise the poster how to get one,

A rescue wouldn't even consider her.

Besides, I wasn't advising her of anything - just trying to make her realise how ridiculous she sounded Hmm

How do you expect to get a free Beagle?!
JaquelineBeanstalk · 20/01/2021 21:13

Yeah, must be a tri colour. Because........?

There’s no good answer to that.

bookshop1 · 20/01/2021 21:14

lol

MamaTT · 20/01/2021 21:18

What an odd post. But whatever.
I’ve a 3 year old tri beagle and another beagle pup arriving next month.
They are exceptionally hard work. Generally can’t be let off lead although my 3yo is let off the lead only when I have a bag full of treats to coax her back. They are hard to train. They’re stubborn. They’re noisy. They shed hair like there’s no tomorrow.
Rescues are full of them as they’re such hard work and people give up on them.
Don’t get one off gumtree for £100. You’d know nothing of the dogs history.
Go down the proper avenue of a rescue. Fwiw my 3yo is a rescue but as I’ve had another child since, rescues won’t allow us to rescue with a child so young at home so our pup is coming from a licensed breeder.

KeepOnKeepingOnKeepingOn · 20/01/2021 21:33

'Anyone got one or know of one free?'

Jesus christ. I hope you don't find one!

wetotter · 20/01/2021 21:38

Beagle puppies are upwards of £2k at the moment (approximately doubled in price since lockdown)

All puppies are expensive right now

LynetteScavo · 20/01/2021 21:42

I fancy a Labrador. Has anyone got one they want to give me. It must be golden.

Wolfiefan · 20/01/2021 21:43

@LynetteScavo me first.
I want a silver unicorn. Free of course.

Pretty obviously - because the OP has a tricolour beagle bitch and is looking to cash in on some undeclared untaxed income by running her own beagle backyard breeding enterprise.

Nice

stroopwafelgirl · 20/01/2021 22:18

Very kindly, go and fuck off to a land where they don’t let irresponsible fools keep animals.

Krazynights34 · 20/01/2021 22:30

To be fair to the OP she didn’t specifically say a male or female but, here’s a thought... are you (OP) trying to genuinely re-home?
I have two beagles. They are awesome but a nightmare (coupled with my DD I have 3 toddlers and mine are aged 15 and 10!)
There’s a charity that re-homes beagles- if you are genuinely trying to help a beagle, they will check you out and assist

She stated beagle dog Dog is a sex descriptor when used in that context.

Otherwise she'd have asked for a beagle (sex not specified)

Unless you think she was trying to make sure we didn't confuse her post in the doghouse with a request for a different type of beagle...

wetotter · 20/01/2021 22:39

If she already owns a bitch, and intention is to breed, wouldn't it be better to just send her to stud?

Yes, but that's more expensive that a free tricolour dog, isn't it.
wetotter · 20/01/2021 22:46

True!

tabulahrasa · 20/01/2021 23:16

Well if there’s free dogs on the go!!!

I’ve been looking for nearly 2 years...

Not fussed on breed, I like large and short coated though neither of those are deal breakers.

I need active, intelligent and trainable - I like to do things like scentwork and up to doing at least 5 mile walks and the occasional run.

Fairly young, say... under 3 would be good.

Must be good with other dogs and cats.

Anyone got one they can give me? Grin lol

tabulahrasa · 20/01/2021 23:21

To clarify, I haven’t been looking for a free dog for that long, that’s just occurred to me... I’ve been looking for a rescue, figured I’d mention that or it sounds a bit odd.

Grin Have you looked at breed specific rescues? Pointer, lab or lab-coated labradoodle might suit your needs

I have friends who have adopted similar dogs from rescues over the last few years

In 6 months there'll also be a deluge of abandoned pandemic puppies
