Ok I know this probably belongs in telly addicts but...

That poor little dog who’s owner keeps taking him out in a pram and won’t let him walk and socialise!

So they got the dog from the puppy farm

Stellaris22 · 03/12/2020 20:44

Yep, and brought her home in a plastic box.

If they genuinely cared about whether it was a puppy farm they would have left their children with family/child care to maintain a level head.

Stellaris22 · 03/12/2020 20:59

Woodys family are great, what a lovely pup and amazing family.

Couldn't understand why Milo's family got another dog before working on his issues with other dogs.

MabelMoo23 · 03/12/2020 21:15

Love Woody!!!!

Stellaris22 · 03/12/2020 21:19

The Boxer seemed like a fantastic dog too, wonderful calm temperament.

MLMbotsgoaway · 03/12/2020 21:19

I’m really enjoying the show. I love Woody and think they’re a lovely family - but don’t think that they’ve really got that dog for their child. They’ve just got a dog

I remember watching a really great documentary on Netflix and service dogs take quite a lot of sacrifices- you couldn’t have one with another dog etc.

It's been good to see the difference between the family who just went and bought a pup 'spending 2 HOURS with the breeder' Hmm and Woody's family who had done the research and got themselves and the house prepared.

MabelMoo23 · 04/12/2020 07:42

The London family, whilst I was impressed they didn’t just leave the pup downstairs at night, when they eventually were able to leave the pup, they left the crate door open. I’m still in puppy researching mode at the moment, but do you leave the crate open at night or close it - but obviously getting up during night to pup to take it outside?

I assume he left crate open as puppy pads were on the floor so they weren’t taking her outside overnight

sprockerdiles · 04/12/2020 09:53

I definitely dont buy that the London family didn't buy from a puppy farm. Surely no reputable breeder has puppies that you can just go and get like that with no waiting list, no visits beforehand etc. It just seemed all wrong although the pup did seem a happy soul. They were never going to come home without a dog though. I think the BBC are quite irresponsible airing that!

sprockerdiles · 04/12/2020 09:54

@MabelMoo23 we shut the crate door at night, mainly for his own safety and so he actually sleeps rather than just finding things to play with!

I leave ours open, like their puppy our crate is in an area he can’t escape if he goes for a wander at night. I wouldn’t want to contain a dog in such a small area for more than an hour or so.

Well I’m a pushover to that dog would have been up in my bed by day 3 Grin

I’m annoyed by the idiots who leave harness and/or lead on new puppies, like leaving laced up boots on a newborn baby.
Few of these families seem to have done any research and most know nothing about puppies. No surprise so many pups are rehomed a few months later.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 05/12/2020 19:09

I am just glad that the father in London family fell in love with the puppy - it should probably have a secure future now. They did better than I thought but I think they were amazingly lucky to get a (seemingly) healthy, nice-natured puppy from such a source and wish they'd been taking it outside for toileting from the off (day or night). I was sorry to get only a brief lightning shot of lovely Fabio's face this week. Still my favourite puppy - I hope he remains independent and isn't too bejewelled.

tabulahrasa · 05/12/2020 20:29

“but do you leave the crate open at night or close it”

You’d have to crate train before closing the door, which can take anything from a few days to a few weeks...

SnowBrussels · 07/12/2020 18:49

Fellow Fabio fans: he’s on Instagram now as @Fabiothepuppy. Prepare to be dazzled!

SimonJT · 10/12/2020 20:07

Miska is very cute

MabelMoo23 · 10/12/2020 20:24

Poor Phoebe!

No wonder she’s crying, she’s gone from being with her mum and litter mates to be by herself on the first night!!

And of course she’s pooed in her crate, she was left by herself all night!!!

SimonJT · 10/12/2020 20:31

80kg! How much would they eat each day?

JazzyGeoff · 10/12/2020 20:33

Woody is just adorable

AgeLikeWine · 10/12/2020 20:34

The St Bernard’s dad is a very sensible chap. If only all dog owners took the same approach.

TheQueensCousin · 10/12/2020 20:36

Miska's owner really reminds me of Kathy Burke. Even her mannerisms, anyone agree?

Yes I can see the similarity, especially the eyes
MabelMoo23 · 10/12/2020 20:39

I love love love Woody

JazzyGeoff · 10/12/2020 20:49

Woody is such a superstar. It's amazing how clever and good dogs can be
