Just saw these on a wildlife documentary and I want one so much! It would almost certainly trash my house and rip my face off, but... so pretty.

@Strokethefurrywall I must admit, the second it gets even slightly warm the bergers check out. My GSD isn’t too bad and still potters around but the Leo’s don’t walk in anything above about 20 degrees.
They also like to lie on the cold stone at night, I don’t think I’ve ever seen mine lie on a bed.

If you had air con they would be quite happy snoozing but you probably wouldn’t be able to walk them at all!

I think the average lifespan is longer than that of most of the giants, 8-10ish. Still there are younger deaths though sadly.

We have an otterhound. She is an absolute charmer, and very easy-going. But she does like to stick her whole head in the water bowl when she drinks.

I absolutely love Staffordshire bull terriers and own them but I would love a malamute! I've voiced this to my husband that when the time comes for my old boy to pass I would consider one.

We are now in a position to offer a suitable home; bigger house, large garden and plenty of good walking areas. I'll prob end up getting another staffy tho! 😂

@Bergerdog - neither of my dogs sleep on beds either, they're on the tile floor only!
Thankfully we do have excellent AC, and they don't walk anytime after 8am or before 5pm.

Unfortunately the constant heat means they shed year round so I have to shave them down to avoid matting.

I remember meeting a beautiful Berger called Cody in Horsham when I was visiting my family last Easter and he was 200lbs of big giant bear dog. My kids were begging for a Leo after meeting him!

I will get one when I no longer live in the Caribbean!!

One of those massive hairy good bois. Like a leonberger, Newfoundland, St. Bernard.
