Just saw these on a wildlife documentary and I want one so much! It would almost certainly trash my house and rip my face off, but... so pretty.

A Dalmatian, but I wouldn't want all the attention or would I? Grin

SelkieQualia · 27/09/2020 06:23

A borzoi. I'd need a bigger car, though.

Ulelia · 27/09/2020 06:28

A Carpathian Shepherd, or a Carpathian/Czechoslovakian wolfdog. Both giants, both capable of fighting bears even, usually incredibly friendly, and both beautiful. However, both used to spending 8-10 hours a day active, will eat anything, are at least 90% fluff, drool like babies... Not suitable for most lifestyles.

Pet fox. 100%

cricketmum84 · 27/09/2020 06:36

Oh or a Saluki. They are so beautiful. But I have cats and they are quite keen on chasing small things.

MothershipG · 27/09/2020 06:50

A Finnish Spitz, a friend had one who stole my heart - but they are a vocal breed and I just don't think I could cope with everything I own turning ginger 😄

A short-haired springer spaniel.
All the joys of a springer without the burrs and bits of bramble, and the fur all over the house.
Unfortunately they don't exist.

DoTheNextRightThing · 27/09/2020 07:43

Tibetan Mastiff. Look at them!!

I have a Samoyed, he’s amazing, but every time we go somewhere we get stopped for people to ask about him.

This is the one time social distancing has been to our advantage.

I hoover a lot!

Loving those Tibetan Mastiffs ..not seen one before.

Used to desperately want a Pyrenean Mountain Dog, or an Irish Wolfhound.

I'd now make do with a Puli or a Samoyed.

Also love the Dandie Dinmont. Smile

@chunkyrun

French bulldog, but I just can't support the breeding of flat face dogs
Have you thought about rescue? I’ve had three as rescues and they’re wonderfully comical strong willed little things. I would never purchase one as a pup because I don’t want to support their immoral breeding but see that the ones in rescue still need homes.

I have my desired dog breeds I’d just like ten of them 😊

RhymesWithOrange · 27/09/2020 08:02

Love the Leonberger.

I know a fabulous Newfoundland who doesn’t drool and swimming with her is fantastic.

My dream dogs are a pair of Salukis. They are so elegant and beautiful.

TBH most dogs are my dream dogs.

FippertyGibbett · 27/09/2020 08:05

So many !
A golden retriever that doesn’t drop hair.
A red setter.
An Irish wolfhound.
And a standard poodle that doesn’t need brushing.

SourMilkGhyll · 27/09/2020 08:11

Irish wolfhound. Leonberger. Neither of which will fit in the car or house while I still have children and other beasts.
But one day ...

Letsleepingdogslie8 · 27/09/2020 08:16

Tibetan Mastiff or a Cane Corso.

CMOTDibbler · 27/09/2020 08:20

A borzoi (tbf, not that impractical) or a doberman (just can't get over the health problems)

I have one part saluki of my own and 3 cats (plus chickens) and he is the softest snowflake around. I also currently have two 8 week old saluki cross puppies that I am fostering who are fine with the cats, so it isn't a given by any means

Humbersider · 27/09/2020 08:24

A pair of silver borzoi. With emerald collars.

Ylvamoon · 27/09/2020 08:25

I'd love a Hungarian Pumi ... just for those ears!!

Howmanysleepsnow · 27/09/2020 08:30

I came on to say Leonberger!
@Bergerdog can you post pictures of the hair/ mess please? We have a Labrador who moults in chunks, and are on the waiting list for a leonberger. I need to prepare myself for the mess!

Ylvamoon · 27/09/2020 08:32

Hungarian Pumi!

DH saw one of these beasts hanging out of a van recently.

So many! Newfoundland (too big), Chow Chow (too temperamental), Doug de Bordeaux.

GertrudeCB · 27/09/2020 08:55

Irish Wolfhound for me, Irish setter for DH.

midnightstar66 · 27/09/2020 08:59

I definitely want a painted dog and a fennec fox - it's the huge ears! I dream of all these exotic pets though, in my make believe zoo I also have ocelots, servals, sugar gliders and red pandas to name a few - oh and a capybara and tapir. That maned wolf is definitely added to the list! It's so elegant with those super model legs. Will make up for the fact it would be totally impractical to have a giraffe! @Harrysmum2020 there is a Shiba inu who is walked in my local park. He's very beautiful and always spotlessly clean but has never been off the lead which I think is a bit of a shame.

IrmaFayLear · 27/09/2020 09:07

Any dog that lives to 30. The great tragedy of dogs is that their lives are so short Sad .

I’d like a whole pack of assorted dogs, like in the advert where they are all running over the hill. And a stately home for us all!
