Tell me about golden retrievers

We have a terrier. Kids were scared of dogs before so we went for small breed. Now they're fully fledged dog lovers, and I still would love a bigger breed and have a real soft spot for retrievers.

Bit worried about the malting.... not an issue with current doggo.

This is Joey, he's nearly 8 months & gets absolutely filthy at every given opportunity

Not seen for a while but last one I seen was aggressive. When I was younger I didn't know their was such a thing as a aggressive dog(retrievers are portrayed as such fun sweet dogs) so I can only think it's down to bad breeding and puppy farmed dogs.
