Dog name - that either isn’t a person name, or is a very unusual person name?

Picking up our dog soon and can’t think of a name!

I prefer dog names that either aren’t people names - or are very unlikely people names.

So far I like:
Digby
Peanut
Pippi
Rocco

But not feel quite perfect.

Anyone want to give me some suggestions?

My kids like all names from kids’ movies they’ve seen or books they’ve read! So any unusual names that come from kids’ books (hence Pippi) or just any suggestions really! Would be so helpful!

I know of a sausage dog called Cumberland Grin

I had Graham and Barbara on my list when we were deciding between two dogs. I didn't get my way, but my dogs name has been mentioned already.

Rover. Proper dog name.

wizzler · 07/10/2019 21:26

Has Op told us the breed yet? I like perverse choices... lofty for a sausage dog, scamp for a rotty!

Love the sausage dog called Cumberland - I always fantasised about having a dachshund called Frank ( short for frankfurter ) and chuckling at the look on a vets face

MrsPnut · 08/10/2019 19:33

We have Ronnie and Mabel, and we used to have Gromet.

Our next dog names will be Bertie and Edith.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 08/10/2019 20:03

I know two Labradors called Barry and Brian. And a friend’s Collie was called Vivian.

agododopushpineapple · 08/10/2019 20:17

Love the name Mabel! I have a Bertie - occasionally refered to as Prince Albert when he’s being uppity Grin

agododopushpineapple · 08/10/2019 20:20

Sorry OP - that’s not helpful! You’ve got some great names there though - what breed or colour is new doggy?
