Dog name - that either isn’t a person name, or is a very unusual person name?

Picking up our dog soon and can’t think of a name!

I prefer dog names that either aren’t people names - or are very unlikely people names.

So far I like:
Digby
Peanut
Pippi
Rocco

But not feel quite perfect.

Anyone want to give me some suggestions?

My kids like all names from kids’ movies they’ve seen or books they’ve read! So any unusual names that come from kids’ books (hence Pippi) or just any suggestions really! Would be so helpful!

Bramble, chip, biscuit, cookie, chops, flash, sparky, chocolate, porridge, (depends on colour), spot.

I have known a Spanner and a Heinz.

Grumpy Bourbon is a beagle, rather a naughty one!

If we ever had another dog, we'd call it Crackers.

I always thought that if I ever had a dog have a litter at Christmas, Cracker and Noel would be on the name list for the puppies.

Horatio is the name that leaped into my head. As for being a character from a children's book, he's a pirate in Usbourne's 'Puzzle island'.

What about Bonzo? (after the band)

Our little pup is called Rio. I also really like Sprocket - 80s child

I think the band was named after the dog’s name! Bonzo is one of those classic old names like Rover

If it’s a small dog I would give him a strong masculine name( Incase he has small dog syndrome) eg Magnum or Rocco

If he’s big a playful name would be cute eg Willard or Sputnik (nn spud)

Frouby I had gerbils called the same.

Rimmer and Lister.

They were good names for little rodenty pets.

I remembered today I had 2 terrapins called Fredrick and Baldrick too. Would love Baldrick to make a comeback on the baby names boards. It's an ace name 😂😂😂

I met a poodle called Percy recently

A local dog walker has a bitch called Beryl (the peril!) and a dog called Derek.

Mine's got a human name (Maggie) but her mates include Albie (though I suppose that's short for Albert) , Rocco and Disco.

My mates dog is called Wags. She got him during a World cup tournament when there was a lot of talk about the Wives And Girlfriends. Seemed a fitting name for a dog!
