Mine ate the bottom stair carpet, literally, nothing left to show but beige fluffy poo

The kitchen floor. But it was those horrible vinyl tiles so to be fair it was worked out quite well as I got a new floor.

We've also been through a memory foam mattress, the corner of a wall, cushions, a door, 2 microwaves, a phone, and 1000 pairs of shoes Hmm

But to be fair she is now a loving well behaved dog who can be completely trusted with everything except the kitchen bin

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 24/02/2019 02:58

Ah yes the kitchen bin, the holy grail to any dog 😂

A sofa Angry Thankfully it was an old one & it was a good excuse to replace it once he outgrew the chewy stage.

He still loves a good rummage in the kitchen bin, bless him.

Fuppy · 24/02/2019 03:32

When I was younger, my homework & the textbook, leaving only the spine.

Redpriestandmozart · 24/02/2019 03:42

Not my dog but my friends, boxer ate half box of daz in kitchen, then ate big hole in kitchen door then barfed up foam all over hall carpet. Came flying down stairs tumbled and shot through glass at side of door. They almost rehomed him next day. He calmed down when he was about 11 😂

WarpedGalaxy · 24/02/2019 03:58

German Shepherd puppy ate the rubber seal inside the washing machine and chewed the door lock mechanism so badly it never worked properly again. He also chewed up the arm of an old sofa we had in the dining room, various books including one of DS1’s exercise books. We sent it to school with a note saying “The dog really did eat DS’s homework, Miss!”
She thought it was hilarious and sent back a note saying the puppy should do 20 lines saying “I must not eat DS’s homework.”

The dial, the on button and the open door button on my Miele washing mashing machine. Confused

Birdie6 · 24/02/2019 04:18

My boxer ate my original cast recording of "Jesus Christ Superstar" . I sat there and cried.

user1483387154 · 24/02/2019 05:17

My Harry potter first edition book 😣

BiteyShark · 24/02/2019 05:49

I was so lucky that my dog wasn't very destructive as a puppy. I think the worst was the corner of a mat.

However, as an adult when he was a bit crazy on a high dose of steroids he ate a rag and had to have emergency surgery to remove it Angry

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 24/02/2019 06:04

Our boxer, as a puppy, learned to stand on her hind legs to grab the sponge cleaner and jcloths from the back of thr sink to eat. She also ate an entire box of eggs she managed to get off the counter, and her crowning glory was a biro - not only did she crunch it up, she dribbled blue over EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, boxers are sometimes referred to as the Peter Pans of the dog world. She lived to be 13, and as pp said, calmed down around 11.

Mirrorpaint90 · 24/02/2019 06:19

A pair of Michael Kors heels bought by my husband as a gift to me (I'd never normally spend that much on shoes). Literally ate the wrapping paper, box, and both heels. I'd never even worn them 🙁😩 i still love him mind! 😂😂

GrumpySausage · 24/02/2019 06:38

A whole tub of butter. The shits after that Shock

A whole block of cheese.

3 whole Easter eggs.

The whole corner of a kitchen floor and the door with it

A 40 year old teddy bear.

He was a very large Greyhound who could reach kitchen works tops and open doors. It took us 5 years to realise he could open doors and in that time, teenage me took a lot of telling of for 'leaving the door open'. I was so vindicated when he was caught doing it.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 24/02/2019 07:29

DDog has been remarkably good about not chewing things he shouldn't with me - once we'd got the kitchen bin raiding under control.

He did, however, chew his way through the crotch of his last owner's best suit. He wasn't best pleased...

Sparklfairy · 24/02/2019 07:35

Rubber seal on washing machine (twice!)
Opened and drank some of a bottle of Flash
Stole cordless phone and rang 999
Open cupboards and steal food (Xmas pudding anyone?)
Flooded all of downstairs
Pulled up bushes and plants and tear round the garden with them

Loads more. He was a nightmare but we still loved him!

sanityisamyth · 24/02/2019 07:58

One of my student's pieces of homework. It was a stunning A2 poster and absolutely brilliant. I was mortified.

Dog stole it off the table in her puppy phase and ripped one of the corners. Luckily I got to her before she did more damage.

The only time I've been able to say "sorry 👨‍🎓 my dog ate your homework"

🤣😱🤣

Darklane · 24/02/2019 17:17

A hole in the wall in the hall.

parrotonmyshoulder · 24/02/2019 17:20

My Anterior Cruciate Ligament. Hoping not completely destroyed! Bloody painful though. He just barged into me at the wrong angle.

CarolDanvers · 24/02/2019 17:24

Almost an iPhone. I came in and snatched it out of his mouth just in time and got away with just a crack in the tempered glass.

IratusCats · 24/02/2019 17:32

Mdog: the corner of the coffee table, stair carpet, skirting board, the corner of the sofa.
Fdog: part of the TV remote, the coffee table, the sofa, a purse, my bank card. Strangely enough we had to replace the stair carpet, coffee table & sofa 🤪

Mominatrix · 24/02/2019 17:34

5 pairs of shoes in one go:

  • 1 pair of Chanel ballerinas
  • 1 pair of Gianvito Rossi gladiator heels
  • 1 pair of Prada ankle boots
  • 1 pair of Rupert Sanderson pumps
  • 1 pair of Tod's driving shoes

A very expensive snack. However, it does demonstrate that she does have very good taste in shoes!

KateGrey · 24/02/2019 17:35

Oh god our puppy is 14 weeks and I’m now slightly panicked he’ll start destroying things.

Lollypop85 · 24/02/2019 17:40

Our GSP ate our invitation to the queens garden party.
We now have a corner in our keepsake box 🙄

ChandelierSail · 24/02/2019 18:06

Two £20 notes that I'd left on the table for the cleaner (puppy jumped on the table to get the money!)

CarolDanvers · 24/02/2019 19:02

This is why I always crate train. If I am not in the room or can’t/don’t have eyes on them; they’re in the crate.
