Mine ate the bottom stair carpet, literally, nothing left to show but beige fluffy poo

7 french fancies! DH ate one and stupidly left the box with the remaining cakes on the coffee table. I found the empty box and a replete dog snoozing off her feast in her basket!

Ddog also used to steal dirty knickers, have a nice chew on them and then hide them at the end of the garden behind the apple tree ( which I became aware of when my gardener found a big pile of them Blush)

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 24/02/2019 20:27

It took us 5 years to realise he could open doors

Yes cos the little sod wasn’t daft enough to do it when anyone was watching! Grin

Our lab chewed numerous shoes and corners of carpets and memorably once through the kitchen wall. Mum said she thought she could hear a funny noise in the night. Came down to a pile of brick dust and a hole in the wall. Idiot dog.

Our current lab chewed my Bluetooth speaker up. Bizarrely it still works!

@BrigitsBigKnickers “Ddog also used to steal dirty knickers, have a nice chew on them and then hide them at the end of the garden behind the apple tree ( which I became aware of when my gardener found a big pile of them blush)”

😮 I think I would have had to emigrate!! What did you say to the gardener? Dogs are dickheads but you have to love them and their kleptomaniac ways 😂

One of DDs retainers. The orthodontist had actually asked if we had a dog when she got them, as apparently it's a really common occurrence if the retainers are left anywhere accessible. I suppose dogs like the taste of dried saliva.

My tissues from the bin after I'd had a nosebleed was the most disquieting though...

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 25/02/2019 01:04

@ErrolTheDragon I never realised how much rubbish people drop on the floor until i got a dog with a tissue fetish! Every single walk he finds at least one, then i have to pull it out of his mouth. I carry hand sanitizer but I do think if I committed a murder I’d get away with it as I’d have half the towns dna on my hands from their tissues!

I've lost count of the stuff she's chewed. Just a few days ago she destroyed one of my favourite make up brushes after I'd not realised I'd dropped it.

I've lost half a dozen pairs of shoes, countless pairs of earphone, a vaccuum, usb cables, corner of living room carpet.

She goes in kitchen on the rare occasion she needs to be alone or if we have guests who are scared of dogs and have a safety gate. Most of the times stuff has been damaged has been because I thought we were not shutting the gate properly and she's had free run but nope, little shit can open it 😂. She's never ever bothered with dds homework no matter how hard she's tried.

I wouldn't change her for the world though.

@Adu1tHumanFemale cables are the worst, I’m down 3 iPhone and 1 kindle one. Amazon love me know for repeat orders!

@ChandelierSail did you check if they came out the other end?

The skirting board. Legs of tables and chairs. Our kitchen mat would be over by the fridge when we'd come home. She was about 6 inches tall.

Yokohamajojo · 26/02/2019 09:15

The tussles on my new clark shoes and the mould of my DS's new football boots! he had a thing for shoes when he was a pup but now it's more cloths and sponges if he can get hold of them

suziedoozy · 26/02/2019 12:56

The dirty sanpro that my friend had put in the bathroom bin.... they were spread all over the hall carpet in varying levels of destruction & marks on the carpet 🤢🤢🤢

How do you politely ask visitors if they are on their periods to put waste straight into the outside bin🤔😳

sockportal · 26/02/2019 12:59

My childhood dog ate my first hearing aid. My mother said that was a fun trip to the vet/ explanation to the hearing clinic.

elloelloello · 26/02/2019 13:13

A stuffed giraffe which DD2 refused to sleep without so was usually kept on a high shelf in DD’s room. I was sorting washing upstairs one day when I discovered him ripping it to shreds on the landing

elloelloello · 26/02/2019 13:18

The heel off the only expensive pair of shoes I’ve ever owned - I cried

A pair of leggings - which then had to be removed from his innards by the out of hours vet

A cardboard tube containing the ashes of our recently departed cat that we’d only just picked up from the vet

WiggleButt · 26/02/2019 14:05

WigglePup chewed through the hose from the main water supply to the fridge dispenser and caused a bit of a flood in the kitchen... that wasn't ideal.

No idea how he reached it, the gap was absolute tiny!

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 27/02/2019 03:38

On the opposite side what’s the best thing your dog ever did, let’s face it, we live them regardless!

The best thing she does is make everyone of us smile every single day. Even the teenager.

My teenage dd says she doesn't like having a dog and that she annoys her, but I've caught her giving her her teddy's to play with, letting her in her bed when she's doing homework and and then last three every weekday the dog is sat watching for dd coming in, the second the handle goes down she runs for a toy and wags her tail so hard and fast in excitement she twerks 😀

Dd has trained her to pull her dirty socks off and drop them at the washing machine too haha.

Worriedallthebloodytime · 28/02/2019 17:21

Lots of things to make us smile but my favourite is probably when he gets onto the sofa and waits for me to get comfy before he snuggles in ☺️

drinkswineoutofamug · 02/03/2019 17:18

Dog has eaten the back door, dinning room carpet, door frames and loves stripping wallpaper. Kissed goodbye to my slippers. Was meant to see a behaviourist who let me down so looked up coping mechanisms on the net/you tube. She's calmed down ( separation anxieties) the past couple of weeks. I now have no ornaments , nothing gets left out on the sides. The house has never looked so tidy!

insancerre · 02/03/2019 17:21

I borrowed a book from the library on how to train your puppy
It was brand new and I was the first one to borrow it
The puppy chewed it to pieces
I had to return it and explain what had happened
Luckily, they felt sorry for me and didn’t charge me anything

Sarahlou63 · 02/03/2019 17:24
  • My former partner's two (false) front teeth, about an hour before he went to work as a head waiter

  • A 2kg fillet of beef. On Christmas morning

  • Countless sunglasses, TV remotes, wellies, the list is endless

Runkle · 02/03/2019 17:26

Kitchen cupboards and floor, Sky cable, cushions.

feska5 · 02/03/2019 17:27

The worst thing, he destroyed my brand new, never worn cashmere coat. The best thing, he made me smile every single day. I wish I had £1 for every time he made me smile. I’d be a millionaire! I miss him.

ruthieness · 02/03/2019 17:32

Boxing day lunch for 16 people!

Actually after Christmas Eve and Christmas day I was not unhappy that they all had to leave early!
