So how can I ensure I don’t end up at a puppy farm If I’m doing my research, checking parents and pups have been health tested, ensuring good feeling about breeder, ensuring I see mum ....

You won’t know 100% unfortunately.

If the parents are health tested, the mum looks like a mum (saggy breasts, out of condition, pups going at her etc), breeder seems keen to question you and seems genuine, nice, clean surroundings, correct number of puppies in good condition etc then most likely it is not a puppy farm but the reality is you can never be 100% sure.

Puppy farmers are clever.
They use a lovely house to give the impression of family raised puppies (the pups are actually bred in filthy pens) and they will use a sweet, tolerant female dog to pretend to be the pups mommy (the real mommy will be nervous and in bad condition, matted, dirty etc).
Because a lot of buyers look for pedigree papers the pups will have KC registration papers, sometimes those papers are genuine, sometimes they are faked.

It isn’t generic health testing you want.
Start with the breed club. That way you shouldn’t end up with a puppy farmed pup.
