If we have been out for an earlier walk than usual, Cocodog sometimes will settle down but misjudge when lunchtime and playtime is. I find her skulking by the back door and sternly point her back towards her bed. Usually works for a while and then she turns up with a toy play bowing. Neither DH or I can resist that.

BiteyShark · 06/01/2019 15:49

Our days have been changed recently with different routines and getting up later so maybe it's thrown his body clock out of sync. I can't be mad either because as soon as he wags his tail my heart melts.

Squirrel26 · 07/01/2019 10:52

SquirrelDog was also a PITA yesterday evening, behaving like the house was being encircled by a pack of hyenas or something.

Thing is, this morning when we went out there was a pile of animal shit of indeterminate origin just on the other side of the fence. I don’t think it was cat, but it could have been fox. (Or hyena, I suppose.)

I feel guilty being cross with him when he’s clearly just reacting to something that really is there, but jeez it’s irritating. Maybe I need to start going out with a big stick and making a lot of noise when he’s being annoying.

BiteyShark · 07/01/2019 11:08

We didn't have any monsters last night but we did have the poo trip at 3am again Sad.

I am going to juggle the quantities of his meals about and see whether we can get him out of this habit as I am tired and he gets to sleep in when I am working Angry

BiteyShark · 08/01/2019 15:56

BiteyDog has been with us for over 2 years and during that time we have had numerous rounds of toast. However, it looks like he has now developed a fear of the toaster when it pops up Confused

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 18:23

We have had some routine changes too. Wolfie girl is cross. It is messing with her hectic nap schedule. Grin

BiteyShark · 08/01/2019 18:32

Oh dear, not sure I would like a cross wolfhound Wink.

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 18:37

She sighs. In a dramatic fashion. And with great comic timing. Grin
It’s also vaccination day today. I haven’t been worrying about reactions at all. Not me. Blush

BiteyShark · 08/01/2019 18:43

Oh god the sighing. BiteyDog just huffs and sighs all the bloody time. Anyone would think he had a hard life Confused.

They have an amazing way of saying how they are feeling without saying any words Grin

Hope WolfieDog is ok after her jabs. I find just the stress of going to the vets upsets BiteyDog for a day.

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 19:01

She likes the vets. It was a new man she had never met but she liked him! I used to take her weekly to weigh and get a treat. Don’t want a Wolfie that won’t walk into the vets. Shock

BiteyShark · 08/01/2019 19:08

BiteyDog still wags his tail and greets the vets but as soon as he is on the table his tail is straight between his legs and he wants to leave as he clearly associates that with examinations and pain. I don't blame him and they all give him a fuss to try and counter balance his fears.

A bit different though as I can hold him when they need to prod and poke. He's strong but not as strong as I suspect WolfieGirl is Grin

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 19:25

But at least I don’t have to drag her up onto the table. Grin
If they need to do anything then I sit on the floor with her. If mummy cuddles her then they can do whatever they like. Including ECG and scan of heart. Biopsy and cleaning of wound and dressing. Etc.

BiteyShark · 08/01/2019 19:35

Ah yes didn't think of the logistics of her being too big for the table BlushGrin

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 19:45

She’s quite dainty for a wolfhound at 55kg! Envy

BiteyShark · 08/01/2019 19:52

Bloody hell, BiteyDog is 15kg Shock

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 20:13

Where did the green face come from?! Supposed to be a smile! One of her sisters was 65 last I heard and boys are bigger!

Whoseranium · 08/01/2019 20:13

She’s quite dainty for a wolfhound at 55kg!

She weighs the same as my four combined ShockGrin

My old girl absolutely loves the vets. She adores people and is convinced that the vets exists just for her to go visit. It doesn't matter what they do to her (she even had an eye removed a few months back...) she thinks it's wonderful there.

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 20:15

Haha. That’s why I have to stay fat. So I have a weight advantage on my dog. Recently met a 7month old boy Wolfie pup as tall as her.

Soubriquet · 09/01/2019 11:30

Madam is 6.2kg...

Little shit is 3.4kg

Squirrel26 · 09/01/2019 14:00

SquirrelDog is 15kg. I know this for definite because he enjoys getting on the scales in reception at training, and does it at every opportunity. Weirdo.

Mind you, when he was lying across my chest at 3am this morning, it felt like he weighed considerably more than that!

fleshmarketclose · 10/01/2019 09:52

Bella is 4.6kg but she mistakenly believes that she is 46kg I think as she has a small dog attitude.
Well put the privacy film on the window hoping to limit Bella's barking at every movement on the street. She looked disgusted and the dc said I was cruel but we shall see if it works. Currently sat with blind closed in living room as neighbour has the cheek to be in his garden so she was growling and barking at him instead Hmm

BiteyShark · 11/01/2019 08:12

No idea what BiteyDogs been up to but he has a very sticky patch on his fur. I think we will be bathing him to try and get that out later Sad

Squirrel26 · 11/01/2019 11:45

Think SquirrelDog might be a subject of conversation at the local primary school today as he did his Meerkat impression in front of at least 2 groups of children walking to school, to cries of ‘look at that doggy!’ Grin

He did beautiful paying attention to me and stopping at roads on his walk yesterday evening, then for some reason peed on my bedroom floor at 2.30am. One step forward, two steps back...

BiteyShark · 11/01/2019 11:47

One step forward, two steps back...

Did anyone play 'whack a mole' in their youth at fairgrounds/seaside? I think it's like dog behaviour in that once you have whacked the mole in its hole another one pops up in a different place Grin

BiteyShark · 11/01/2019 18:24

Well olive oil rubbed into his fur followed by a shampoo seems to have removed whatever had stuck to him. At least we didn't have to cut his fur off like last time when even the dog groomer couldn't remove it.
