Good! I know a few of the rescue folk that took this to Parliament last year, they worked their socks. Not sure if this has come off the back of that but it's about time. And I hope the rest of the UK follow suit

LilCamper · 25/01/2018 09:27

I'm glad too, I know of a Scottish 'trainer' who'll be down the job centre today.

Surname rhymes with Birk 😝 That be him then! I'm stalking his page to see his reaction haha

LilCamper · 25/01/2018 09:30

I have 'other' FB accounts hehe. He was moaning on there recently about this because they wanted to bring in restrictions to using e-collars. Suggesting anyone who got the email from the KC 'reply & go mental'

I wish I was a fly on the wall in his house this week

LilCamper · 25/01/2018 09:37

Has he gone all quiet? Not like him!

meandmytinfoilhat · 25/01/2018 09:38

So they should. Shock collars are cruel.

mustbemad17 · 25/01/2018 09:40

Lil not seen any response from him as of yet. Will keep you posted!

Chugalug · 25/01/2018 09:40

I'm shocked they were legal in the first place

Notasperfectasallothermners · 25/01/2018 09:40

Someone should go on a date with him and wrap one around his penis. Tight.

mustbemad17 · 25/01/2018 09:41

Not sure there would be one small enough...

Chugalug · 25/01/2018 09:41

Who are we talking about? So I can look on facebook

mustbemad17 · 25/01/2018 09:42

Chug his name is Roddy Kirk. He runs 'be pack leader' dog training school. Aka dog abuse school

Chugalug · 25/01/2018 09:44

Cheers I will have a look..

Yokohamajojo · 25/01/2018 09:45

Easy to work out Chugalug see the rhymes up thread!

Chugalug · 25/01/2018 09:52

Couldn't see much ,other than him trying to rehome a bullmastive and a golden

Chugalug · 25/01/2018 09:53

Clearly a nasty piece of work..you would have to be to put an electric shock collar on any animal

BattleCuntGalactica · 25/01/2018 09:55

Now if we could follow suit down here, that would be fantastic.

mustbemad17 · 25/01/2018 10:02

Chug he's very vocal about his use of e-collars (he likes to call them freedom collars!) & reckons anyone who doesn't like them doesn't understand them

FairfaxAikman · 25/01/2018 10:10

Hopefully prong collars are next. Shock collars are the preserve of the lazy "trainer" looking for a quick fix and who thinks suppressing something is the same as curing it.

I posted this news on a breed page I'm on on FB and sadly I was flooded with comments like "used correctly they are a wonderful tool" and "they save dog's lives" and "they don't hurt on low settings" - all total bollocks of course. No matter how much scientific evidence you shove in front of the noses of people like this they still have a "flat earth" mentality.

I have two out of three dogs with issues, none of which can't be dealt with through (force free) training.

LilCamper · 25/01/2018 10:19

The articles I have seen Ms Cunningham says, "I will therefore be issuing strong ministerial guidance on the use of all painful training devices for courts to take into consideration in any cases brought before them regarding unnecessary suffering through the use of these devices.", so I am hoping that covers prongs and chokes too.

Having done the whole wrap it round your arm & give it a tug thing i detest all of them. And i have yet to see anyone stick one round their own neck & hand the remote to an enthusiastic moron. Same with prongs.

I always have problem dogs as fosters. All have been successfully rehomed without the use of vile tools

FairfaxAikman · 25/01/2018 10:50

@mustbemad17 I work as a journalist and I did volunteer to wear one and give someone the remote as a work project but it never went ahead.
