One of our precious DDogs was diagnosed with Lymphoma earlier this year. He underwent 6 months of chemotherapy, and we were delighted to be told that he was in remission.

But over the last few days, I’ve noticed the glands in his neck and the backs of his knees are up again.

Could this be due to anything trivial, or have I got to face the return of his cancer diagnosis?

Sad

Really sorry to hear this best to get him back to vets ASAP....my thoughts are with you x

BiteyShark · 19/11/2017 07:20

Hope it hasn't returned OP Flowers

dudsville · 19/11/2017 07:26

I don't know op but my heart and hand go out to you. Poor pup.

ShizeItsWeegie · 19/11/2017 07:42

If he was diagnosed this year and has had chemotherapy six months of this year, I can't see how they can tell you the cancer has gone this year. Did the vet actually say the cancer had gone? Multiple swollen lymph nodes in a dog with a history of lymphoma is likely to be more of the original diagnosis OP sorry. Dogs are amazing creatures and are one the best things about this world. Good luck but I think your gut instinct is correct here Flowers

Thanks all for your kind words. Sadly as I suspected it’s the return of the Lymphoma. My lovely boy will leave us on Friday. Please hold him in your thoughts.

I’m finding it difficult to sleep tonight. I keep thinking that when I wake up, it’ll nearly be time. So I don’t want to sleep... Sad

It’s so very sad saying a final goodbye to a beloved pet but you are doing the very best for him. You wouldn’t want him to suffer. Thinking of you today Flowers

LEMtheoriginal · 24/11/2017 07:43

Holding your hand tightly. I am a vet nurse so deal with these things daily. Please take comfort that your dog has had a lovely life and that you are doing the right thing. Know that the people who help you through this feel a little bit of your grief alongside you. They won't show it but they absolutely do feel it.

I'm so sorry OP. He's so beautiful. Flowers

FlyMaybe · 24/11/2017 22:00

My lovely boy is gone Sad

He died in my arms, calm with no pain, and the Vet and his nurse were obvs upset too. They have cared for him through removal of 2 tumours and all his chemo during the first bout of Lymphoma.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I know we did the right thing, that he was basically already dying. Doing my best to think of the happy times. But it's a sad night chez Fly tonight. I know MN doesn't like these. But I'm going to post them anyway.

🐾🌈💔

To my beautiful boy Thanks

I too had to let go of my beautiful girl today, I am beyond heartbroken (I haven’t slept a wink yet) but I take some comfort knowing it was time and she is now at peace.
I hope you do too x

FlyMaybe · 25/11/2017 09:58

So sorry Teacup. It's so hard isn't it?

May your precious girl fly free.
