One of our precious DDogs was diagnosed with Lymphoma earlier this year. He underwent 6 months of chemotherapy, and we were delighted to be told that he was in remission.

But over the last few days, I’ve noticed the glands in his neck and the backs of his knees are up again.

Could this be due to anything trivial, or have I got to face the return of his cancer diagnosis?

Sad

This was him on his final walk yesterday.

Sleep well, beautiful boy.

What lovely photos and it’s so good that his last day had lovely stuff like walks and cuddles in it rather than pain and fear. You did the right thing even though it must have been so hard for you - I hope I’m as brave when eventually the time comes for me to make a similar decision xxx

How are you doing @FlyMaybe?

Sending love. It will be so hard but it does get easier. Thinking of you xxx

What a handsome boy. I am so sorry for your loss. It is utterly heartbreaking. Flowers

I'm doing ok thanks. Am still sad but I know it was the right thing to do. Am doing my best to be strong so I can support DS and DH. We've had a very tough year and this has been the straw that breaks the camel's back for my DH, sadly Sad

Swift was a rescue dog. He came to us 5 years ago - his previous 'mum' had died very suddenly, and his 'dad' couldn't cope with the dogs in his grief. So they were rehomed.

He was quite very chilled if we were home, but got very anxious when we went out Sad

Thank you all so much for your kind words. It means such a lot. I will share some pics of him in happier times later. On a train at the mo.

Hug your dogs/cats/other furries close today. They are so precious. Thanks to all those who are also in pain 🐾🌈

A few years ago we lost our hound very suddenly to bone cancer, he'd retired from racing at 5 and was loving his new life, we only had him for a year and a half. So bloody unfair.

So hard to do the right thing but the absolute best for them.
