Are we actually going to get these dogs

We have been in contact via Facebook message for dogs from Czech republic.
We told her we would like dogs in march.
She now says dogs in January. How do we know that she will actually send us the dogs? We sent her£500 deposit we still need to pay£2400.

Are they specific dogs? And what do you mean how do you know if she will ‘send’ you the dogs?

Are you trying to buy puppies/older dogs from a breeder or get specific ones from a shelter/pound?

Have you actually met the person in question? How did you find them? Are you paying them for the dogs or for their services in securing and exporting the dogs?

This all sounds very vague. How did you get hold of this person and why have you sent her a £500 deposit? How many dogs are you supposed to be buying from her.

I hope you're not considering just sending another £2400 on the promise of her sending you the dogs. Dogs are not parcels, they can't just be sent into the country.

Dogs or puppies? Why get them from abroad? ... And yes walk away, kiss your £500 goodbye. Start looking for a decent breeder or rescue where you can visit your prospective new family member.

Why get dogs from abroad when there are so many here that need homes? Is this some sort of European dog rescue thing? Seems very expensive if so.

Another £2400 to pay and you've already paid £500?!? You've been had. If you must adopt from abroad go through a reputable organisation. Wild at Heart Foundation is one we looked at.

Agree with all the above. This is a scam. How many dogs and what breed are they meant to be? I cannot believe you have already paid 500 . Do not send anymore money. Google dog abroad scam, hundreds of results about this kind of stuff.

Something to consider is the health issues associated with importing dogs from abroad. Speak to your local vet about it, it's eye opening.

I assume these are 'pedigree' pups rather than rescues?

Who are you meant to be buying them from?

No-one here can really answer your question though. You might get them, you might not. If you do get them, they may or may not be fully of the breed you discussed (but probably not). Either way, they are probably going to be farmed puppies, far too young, illegally and cruelly imported and possibly carrying diseases both that UK dogs get, and some new ones that are becoming prevalent here through indiscriminate importing of low quality pups. They are also likely to have forged passports and not be vaccinated as claimed.

Have to say, not sounding good in any direction ...

Oh wow we rescued a pup from Romania, it cost £250 which didn't nearly cover the rescues costs but that's the donation they asked for and we got him within 3 weeks.

I checked them out and found that a friend of a friend worked for them before sending any money.

I hope you get your dogs but wow that's a LOT of money. Are they flying them over or using transport vans?

How many dogs are you planning to get, 101 daalamtians?! That sounds a lot of money. You can get pedigrees here for £500.

Get a dog from the UK. There are thousands needing a home. It is ridiculous to get a dog from so far away and paying so much money too. Crazy

Why are you interested in buying these particular puppies from this particular breeder? You've mentioned lineage before but what is so vital about their pedigrees that you're willing to put the puppies through so much (not to mention pay so much) to get them to you?

You said previously you were intending to fly out and meet them, have you actually done that?

Do you actually know anything about these dogs OP. Do you realise just how much hard work they are? From the fact that you are wanting to get two litter mates I assume not.

Do you also not realise that you there are plenty of them for sale here in the UK, probably from similar puppy farms to the one that you are buying from in the Czech republic.

There are not plenty of them in the UK. I've spoken to the few breeders there are here and we would be waiting about 3 years. The breeder I've found has top show dogs in Europe and Russia. And has exported her dogs world wide. But I'm concerned about her lack of communication. If the internet about her is true then I have nothing to worry about. Im just an anxious person and have never done anything like this as an adult. My parents bought a black lab when I was 16 who was shipped over to the channel islands from Scotland. It's a lot of money and that's what bothers me.
The puppies are now 2 weeks old so we should get them in January.
Also why is it a problem to have 2 from the same litter? We thought 2 would keep each other company and play with each other? We can still chose to only get 1 .
