Would you like to meet a baby wolfhound?!
Would you?!?!

Before I get told off please know I have wanted this breed for years. I spent about 18 months researching, attending shows, meeting potential breeders, asking questions, seeking advice and generally finding experts to support me. This puppy is very much longed for and not bought off some internet puppy farmer.
So a picture?!

Her colour and markings are beautiful.

I'd have puppy envy if DDog wasn't going through her teenage phase.

Dixie - scroll to the picture at 12:14 today of Douglas!

dotdotdotmustdash · 10/12/2016 19:46

I'm another who is an internet friend of MeggieMoo and her tribe, including Douglas. I can't imagine living with a dog that big! I would love to meet a full-grown wolfhound in real life but there aren't many around. Another doggy buddy has several Deerhounds which I have met and aren't quite as bulky. I love big, scruffy, houndy dogs. You are so lucky!

PacificDogwod · 10/12/2016 22:21

Oh, I've met RL wolfhounds. And one memorable Irish Deerhound.... Shock

Donkey just about covers it - I remember doing a double take Grin

Oh I love Wolfies. I would say though, get working on her lead work as soon as you can - my rescue lab is tiny and obviously didn't have proper lead training and can pull me off my feet, so with one that big you need to get on it.

I,m only posting that on Christmas Day because he nearly had me on my arse earlier! Merry Christmas!

confusedandemployed · 25/12/2016 17:45

Oh goodness she's beautiful. My much beloved remaining JRT may not have long left and am sizing up the next tenant for his basket. A wolfie could be in the running (it is a VERY big basket for a JRT) Grin

Wolfiefan · 04/01/2017 22:11

Soooo. We have started dog training classes. (Well really they are to train the human obviously!) She was shattered. So much to take in. Sleeping through the night now but huge separation anxiety. I'm just wandering in and out of the room she's in and ignoring her a bit when I'm in the room. She just wants her humans. Until she's tired then she takes herself off to bed and we are surplus to requirements! Grin

Awww Isla, you are gorgeous!

iloveeverykindofcat · 09/01/2017 13:15

Oh my God, she's adorable. Her face is so beautiful and soft.

Wolfiefan · 09/01/2017 13:18

She's absolutely gorgeous. Biased much?! BUT the separation anxiety. Good lord. Can't leave her alone even long enough to eat a meal or have a shower. Hoping this will pass.
In other news she is meeting the kitties and getting used to who's boss. NB this was supposed to be a bed for the dog! Grin

The cats totally stern facing her too! Making sure she knows her place from the startGrin

Wolfiefan · 25/01/2017 22:18

I'm having wine.
I suffer from anxiety anyway.
Tonight we were walking by a road and her lead just broke. She bolted. Ran across the entrance to a supermarket. Across the main road. It was dark and she was panicked. I was distraught.
She ran home.
I'm having wine.
And a cuddle.
I need a puppy cuddle.

TheCrowFromBelow · 25/01/2017 22:26

Oh no! You poor thing, yes have wine. Hope you are both OK.

Wolfiefan · 25/01/2017 22:28

Turns out a cuddle, a frozen carrot and a tripe chew solves all issues for a dog.
I, on the other hand, feel more like prescription medication, hard alcohol and counselling!
She's fine.

TheCrowFromBelow · 25/01/2017 22:42

Ha yes, a frozen carrot can cure all doggy ills in this house too!

Glad to hear she's ok.

Wolfiefan · 30/01/2017 15:43

Isla went to her first show yesterday. She's shattered today. It was a good socialisation day. Lots of dogs and owners, lots of people cuddling her, inside a sports type hall. She travelled in a friend's can with her two dogs. (She had never been in a van or met these dogs before!) she was a superstar!
