She's due at the vet in just under two weeks so he'll weigh her then and advise. He has told me to feed her more as she was a bit lean but we were going on what the breeder had said both things I told the vet he wasn't happy with.

Good luck with another pup arrival Panicmode1!

We used extremely tiny bits of cheese as treats and that helped. Looks like it was just an accident, OP. She sounds like a very clever girl!

You need to train her out of biting the lead. try clicker when she leaves her lead alone?

Goingtobeawesome · 23/09/2016 22:10

Think she's too young for cheese. I thought the clicker would be for distracting her when she's doing things I don't want her to do but the booklet says it is for when she's done something I want her to do and she learns clicker = treat. She doesn't really need the clicker but I'll carry on.

Awwww cute!

Jess has been a pickle today. She likes socks...but she's doing really well with leave and not too bad with drop. My bladder is doing sterling work as she's doesn't like to be without mummy...

They are so cute! I want a puppY!

Goingtobeawesome · 26/09/2016 16:04

Tell me everything you ow about toilet training please.

She's doing so well, using a mat inside and the garden but there is no set pattern. She did a wee outside, played a bit, brought herself in doors then less than a minute later did a wee on her mat. I couldn't have known she would go again and she brought herself inside. Shall I just live in the garden until she learns to ask to go out? She's asked once a day or two ago.

She is learning all the time. She does paw and knows not to jump up. Such a fast learner it is scary Grin.

Yes, puppy pads. She had been doing so well but yesterday she weed a few times inside. DH told me it isn't me being rubbish, she's nine weeks and has been here for ten days. Today she had her breakfast and I took her out less than five minutes later. She did a poo but I'm not sure if she did a wee. We played out for about half an hour then within a minute or two weed on the carpet near to the pad. I feel I'm doing something wrong but don't know what. Even if she has brought herself in she has then weed almost immediately on the mat/carpet which confuses me as she has done loads of wees outside.

Training wise she's a genius. Comes, sits, waits, does paw, leaves, drops though of course it isn't 100% of the time and I wouldn't expect that. I'd say 70 though.

70-80 I meant.

takesnoprisoners · 27/09/2016 16:44

Jess's mum, get rid of the puppy pads. They are a hinderance to training the pup as it confuses them. By now, being a large breed, she should be weeing outside. Good luck :)

Goingtobeawesome · 27/09/2016 17:46

She is a weeing outside mostly. She's done one inside today and that was because my PIL were here and I missed the cue. Today we've been out less times but stayed out for longer. Always huge praise when she goes outside and I've left the door open so she can take herself out and bring herself back in. I always follow her so she's safe and I can see she's been to praise.

Nine weeks and expected to be trained! Poor love but she's doing so well. If only human babies were trained as soon! I'd never have known she'd be trained so young.

Thank you.

New trick today - clap paws and she's been brilliant and waiting and paw. She's also been training to audition for the England team as she's already better than some of them with a football Grin.

I was shocked myself when the breeder told me that at 8 weeks they are mostly trained. I couldn't believe my eyes when mine would not wee inside. Bigger breeds have bigger bladder and that helps them, apparently! Jess is so smart! More photos please :)

Goingtobeawesome · 28/09/2016 11:36

Today we are living in the kitchen so she has to go outside. She's done a couple already. Finally gone to sleep so I'll sneak upstairs to get jobs done. Was in tears this morning as all she does is eat leaves, moss and grass and she's started biting and growling when I try and empty her mouth and is responding less well to commands. What is best to do? Let her eat whatever, try and get as many out as possible, bring her in each time so she thinks hmm not worth it?

She's very attached. When she's asleep I can't get out of the room before she wakes up.

She's done really well with toileting in the garden today. The only time she did a wee in the kitchen was my fault. I say the signs but thought I was wrong. Once we've gone into the dining room she's weed on the carpet twice. No pad down.

She has decided she'll ignore me a lot of the time and hide in the thickest prickliest bush.

takesnoprisoners · 03/10/2016 10:06

Aww.. just saw the photos, Jess's mum! She is too too cute. :) Looks like she is gaining confidence and is trying to push boundries with you. You are doing the right things, just be consistent. And you need to keep practicing the commands. We still do and ours is nearly 2!

The best thing is to teach her to either 'leave' or 'drop it' and then use that no matter what is in her mouth. It is tough, but you will get there. Also, do teach her the 'stay' command. It is very useful when you are outside and you don't want her rushing into things.

Goingtobeawesome · 03/10/2016 15:20

She's adding to her commands. Does lie down and hello now and is streaming to respond to the whistle.

Still not 100% trained. She had been out for a while and then as soon as she saw me move her crate, to as it is when I have to go out and she goes to bed, she went in the room and weed. More happening outside but I'm puzzled as to why she wees indoor but is it still early days? I don't want to be doing anything wrong so she's still weeing and pooing inside when she's one tbh. She sometimes barks to go out but sometimes no clue we see. I don't get cross but the books suggest a loud noise and put her out but she ignores the noise and has already done it all.

We've been trying wait but she's still very little ! Grin.

She slept in until 6.15!!!! Hurray. Shame ds2 phone went off at 5.15am 😡 All we did different with her was to not not her sleep much past eight and put the heating on Grin.

takesnoprisoners · 04/10/2016 09:14

Is she weeing in the same spot? It could be marking. If the same spot, you need Enzyme cleaners to kill the smell and to make her forget. I am sure you know this, just reminding you in case forgotten.

Goingtobeawesome · 04/10/2016 10:11

It's in the same area, mainly the smaller room but occasionally in the lounge. DH has wet hoovered a couple of times but it has had no effect. We had some urine eliminator spray but if he use drugs it she has been there since. She did a small wee this morning and I've no idea why. I was near by and she didn't ask to go out or show signs. She's done two small ones since in the garden and goes all night. DH takes her out first thing and she does both.

Is Enzyme the brand?

Thank you.

OP posts:
takesnoprisoners · 05/10/2016 14:32

Simple Solution is the brand name. Enzyme Spray This pretty much kills off all scent and hopefully helps Jess forget the spot.

Goingtobeawesome · 05/10/2016 14:51

Thank you.

One accident yesterday and one today so she's doing brilliantly. Asks to go out but because she's 10 weeks old gets all excited by new leaves and twigs that she forgets why she was going out, comes in after a play then wees Grin.

She's learnt that if she's naughty, does as she asks she gets a treat so she goes off to be naughty again just to get the treat Grin.

Had her second jab today, sick in the car just as we got home. Vet wants us to feed her even more. Her lunch was 50% bigger so she had to stop part way through to take a breathGrin.

Just went out for half an hour and forgot to put her in her den as there's no blankets in her crate (washed, on line) and she was asleep. All okay when I got home, no wees and a puppy happy to see me. Hasn't left my side since I've been home or let me go away without her following me. Currently napping on my foot.

Oh puppies and leaves!!! It was like the end of the world for mine when he saw a leaf fly in the wind :) This is the best stage and they grow far too quick
