What mix is my mutt?

I bought a mixed breed puppy and have high suspicion that he is not the mix that I was told. I adore him and just wanted a mongrel so don't mind but it's another reason why not to buy dogs from gumtree etc. Any way would anyone like to have a guess what's in there or what he was sold as?
He's 8 months old and weighs 8kgs, has wavy hair that needs clipping but then course hair on his belly and in amongst the hair on his neck. He can bounce higher then he should be able too for something with such stumpy legs and loves chasing stuff. He's very energetic and needs plenty of walks or he gets 'naughty'.

What did they say he was???

He's supposed to be 3/4 shih tzu X chihuahua!!! The mum who I saw did look like a chihuahua X but I think they may have been full of bollocks!

I think a bit of Westie in there, they eyes/nose position and that wee flash of white.

He's a cutie for sure.

Ive had chihuahuas and I can't see any in that dog..

I could maybe see some shih tzu if I squint but not chihuahua

Mine is allegedly collie/lab (mother) and staffy. So I thought he'd he small. He isn't.

Face is definitely wire haired daschund!

I think there's some form of terrier in there. His groomer thinks wire haired sausage dog and the vet says schnauzer.

Needa cleverNN yours looks like a shih tzu with a bit of whippet in there.

BigGreenOlives mum looked a bit wiry so I thought some kind of terrier.

Dad was a toy poodle, mum was a Lhasa apso cross shih tzu

We had these three at one point

The light brown was a long haired chi (which is why I said j couldn't see chi in your dog)

The black was a jrt X chi

And the the black white and tan was jrt

Unfortunatly the jrt was pts three years ago from cancer and the other two had to be regimes due to homelessness. Miss them all like crazy

My mutt! She's a JRT / Pug / Border Terrier - at least they're the three we know about! her hair is getting wirier as she gets older - I think that's the Border coming out.

ps brian your mutt is gorgeous. I agree with whoever said about the wire haired daschund - particularly his face!

The colouring on the OPs dog and the wiry hair would make me think that there is some bedlington terrier in him - looks like a bedlington X with dachshund .

I was wondering cairn terrier , schnauzer, wire haired dachshund? He does look very Dandie Dimont like, but as people have said, they are very rare.
