Can anyone recommend a pair of wellies that lasts more than a year without leaking? Had old hunters which were fab but new hunters are rubbish now I hear.

Got joules ones a year ago but they're now leaking.

Every review of every brand I see, suggests none of them last.

I'm thinking about aigle or muckboots but not sure about MB being either too warm for all year if go for Arctic, or rubbish tread if go for hale. Some reviews said these didn't last either.

I'm about to walk dog in rain and will resort to poly bag inside boots until get new ones!

Aigles are excellent , I've never got on with muck boots as I like a lot of flexibility around the ankles . Dublin country boots are also very good , mine have lasted just over 2 years and have just started to leak on one of the top seams so my DH is going to repair them , I wear my boots at least 2 hours a day in very swampy conditions !

Le chameau for wellies are the best. Aigle are a good mid range alternative. Dubarry are the best country boots, but never ever buy Hunter, they are now very poorly made and leak.

forget hunter wellies - they do not last
there is a school of thought that you either buy good lasting wellies/muckboots or you buy cheap and replace on an annual basis.
being in the latter school I buy these (dunlop ladies wellies on Amazon) for dog-walking and keep my good comfortable boots for other pastimes

my current pair of these basic wellies are now on their second winter and still intact and warm and comfortable with 2 pairs of socks inside

Another one with Agile parcours, I also have a pair of leather Tuffa boots for when the weather is really cold, both are very comfortable & have lasted well with no leaks.

For years I have just worn decent walking boots but it is so wet where I walk I had started to wear my Hunters more often, though really don't find them great.
I got a pair of Aigle Parcours for Christmas and have to say I am in love with them - so comfy!

I bought a pair of Le Chemau 14 years ago, neoprene lining and vibram sole. They cost £100 then but have been worth every penny, they have only just started to leak. Sadly I to am off on a wellie shopping spree.

No, don't waste your money on a pair of cold hunters. Buy Toggi Canyon boots, leather toasty warm and waterproof. I've had mine for three years, still going strong and I only need the thinnest of socks!!!! You can get them from most Equestrian websites, Amazon or Ebay. I paid £90 for mins, money well spent!! I used mine for work with horses now walking my dog !!! Love them :)

Hmm, trouble is I have big feet and wide calves. Not many boots fit me.

Le Chameau all the way. Bought a pair of Hunters about 11 years ago before they became rubbish and they were ok but always had freezing cold feet in them and very uncomfortable. Bought some neoprene lined Le C about 3 years ago and they have been amazing. Feet have never been cold, even in thin socks and snow and so comfy I regularly walk 2 hours a day with dog and feel like I've got my slippers on.

Le chameau are lovely - DH's have been going for years and are very comfy. Mind you I've been using joules almost daily for a couple of years so not upgrading myself yet.

Hmmm think I may go with Mollie's theory. Cheap dunlops that I won't mind when they fail for now, and save up for aigle or le c ! Thanks.

I also recommend Le Chaneaus; I've been wearing a pair of the neoprene lined Vierzonords for over 5 years of muddy dog walks and farm/equine consults and they look good as new. If you'd rather go for leather boots Dubarry Galways are expensive but last years, look good and are extremely comfortable.

Another thought...is the only difference with men's wellies a wider fit? Men's seem cheaper for some reason

I got my aigle boots 3.5 years ago, they are fantastic. I also have a pair of merrel snow boots for very cold weather but my aigles are best for muddy walks.

Another vote for Le Chameau (with Vibram soles). Really comfortable on long walks, the tread is great in mud and uneven surfaces and feet don't get cold when walking.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig just buy the mens version. I'm a EU 42 for trainers and walking boots (ladies UK 41.5 or 7.5 for shoes), great fit everytime.

I vote for dunlops too.

Yeah I thought about that lapsed, I'll see what they're like when they come.

Well I got an emergency pair of dunlops which are OK but not v comfy. I've also taken a punt on size 6 men's le chameau as they were £25 on Amazon. Free return if don't fit so what the heck.

I have neoprene lined Aigle, they are as comfy as my old hiking boots, can wear them for 2-3 hours easily
