What tricks / commands does your dog know?

What 'tricks' can your dog do? I have run out of inspiration after the usual Walk, Come, Sit, Stay. Ddog also does Roll Over, Paw, Nose touch. Long distance Lie Down is still very much work. in progress.

I feel I should be making better use of the summer holidays by doing more. What else can I do ?

DH boxer who is the daftest dog I've ever met does the usual with high 5, speak, sneeze, seal (balances her toy bone on her snout) stay, cry and dance.
Seal and dance she'll only do for me.

She knows husky commands - mush (go!), gee and haw (turn right/left)
Sit, stay. Whoa for stop (like at edge of pavement)

She will give me her paw, knows 'in', 'out' & stay.

She looked at me like this Hmm Angry when I tried to teach her to sit or lie down. I've given up.

Spin, twist, weaving through legs, walking backwards, paws up onto an object, going round something, jumping through a hoop, jumping over leg/arm, commando crawl, sit pretty (beg), bow (plus the usual sit, down, paw, high 5, roll over etc)

However the most useful commanded by far is his positive interrupter - "wossis?". It seems to get through to a bit of his brain that other commands miss so that even if he's about to get into trouble and is haring off to investigate a picnic on the beach for instance, I can say "wossis?" and he'll turn on a sixpence and race back to me. We've just been on holiday and we've used it a lot...

Mine knows a few useless tricks. My boy dog knows sit, stay, stand, down, on your mark (its his sendaway but i can hold any object, tell him "mark", throw it and send him and runs over turns round and lays down), he also does "head down" so he lays his head on the floor from a down...we're still working on head up its not consistent. He can also whisper and speak so whisper is a little rumbly growly noise and speak is louder. Im shaping a new behaviour at the moment which is going to be smile cos when i tell him to go away he sort of lifts his lips at me a little bit like hes smiling.

My other dog is learning to limp at the moment she holds her leg up on command but is having trble with the walking part. Both dogs can do "finish" and the boy dog also does agility so knows those commands too

Mine knows loads, and chooses to ignore them all. I like the sound of "wossis?"

Ddog1 does agility so lots of commans associated with that. We've also done Rally Obedience and Heelwork to Music, so a few more interesting commands there. And he unloads the washing machine. Grin

Ddog 2 is a rescue and not quite so well trained! She knows the basics, plus sendaways, distance control, go to bed, and has just learned to bow, which is something DDog1 has never mastered.

Both dogs spin which is a fun to teach.

Plus 'Find.....X' where X can be a person in the family or a familiar toy or household object.
'Empty!' For the tumble drier. She doesn't fold them but she does pile them neatly.

Most of the usual: sit, wait (at the side of the road and getting out of the car), high five, down is a bit iffy sometimes/mostly as is drop if sheep poo is involved, otherwise quite good.

She can walk quite far on her hind legs, which I can't take any credit for as it's something she's always done, recall is fantastic . We also do a sort of race thing where she waits for 1,2,3, go then we run for a short while - my running days are pretty much over - finds her ball when asked, walks to heel. Oh and when asked she will lift each leg in turn for drying after coming in from a rainy walk; been using that one a lot over the weekend.

I've tried to teach her some fun tricks such as putting her toys away, and to roll over but unless there's a tummy/back rub involved she looks at me as if I'm asking her to do higher calculus.

Male dog- sit, shake paw, shake other paw, high 5, speak, lie down, roll over.
Female dog- sit, shake paw, down. She's incredibly stubborn so these are done on her own termsz

DDog1 is thick. He does sit, lay down, come, wait, shake, twirl, bow.
Ddog2 will do more, but only if the food treat is worth it. You can see the calculation going on in his mind

Loads of obedience behaviours because we used to compete.

Stuff she does that count as tricks: high five, roll over, twist, play dead, cover eyes/be shy, sit pretty/beg, limp on cue, reverse, leg weaves (static and moving), head down on paws, go and shut the back door, lift hind leg/"wee like a boy dog"..... probably more I've forgotten!

Eric does on your marks, get set....... go (down flat, bum up, run) he dances, he says he's sorry (crawls across the floor), he takes things and fetches thing to a mat (swaps shoes for slippers), he goes to wake the person whose mug I show him,lots of daft stuff really, more to amuse us and keep him busy than for any real purpose.

Shake paw, shake other paw, high five, roll, sitting on her hind legs, getting me a tissue when I sneeze, run around my legs in an 8 shape, dinging a hotel reception bell when hungry.
And then all the usual recall, sit, stay, retrieve, leave/trade (if she has something in her mouth), lifting paws and turning around to position herself to get all 4 paws dried.

Boxer boy is very good at doing funny expressions.

He can sit, stay, down, high 5, dance, find it.

'where's DSD?' (looks out front window and goes mental if DSD car pulls up on drive)
'where's DS?' (looks out front window and goes even more mental if DS car pulls up on drive)
'where's cat1?' goes to said cat and nudges her.
'where's cat2' goes to said cat and looks from cat to you as he knows if he touches boycat he'll get a swipe round the face.
'who's this? (goes to front door and looks out porch window).

and .... one of us hides under the duvet on the bed, the other one says FIND HER/HIM and boxer charges down to the bedroom and proceeds to jump all the bed trying to unearth you from the duvet.

We used to have a GSD who would help you bring shopping out the car into the kitchen and would bring her toys in from the garden and put them in the toy box in the kitchen.
