This is our rescue dog, she is 1 year old (bar a few days) and weighs 11kg but what is her cross do you think? (Her sister has been DNA tested and the result surprised me)

Here's Trigger for any hound-sleuths. We know he's mainly GSD, but what's the cross?

airedailleurs · 20/05/2015 18:50

labrador?

lougle · 20/05/2015 21:20

Possibly. Or retriever? He's definitely got a broader nose than a GSD, plus some white/yellow nails and some black nails.

Bubble2bubble · 20/05/2015 22:22

His ears make make think there's some collie in there, or possibly that one parent was a lab/collie ....gorgeous boy :)

lougle · 20/05/2015 23:14

He is a gorgeous!

chelle792 · 22/05/2015 09:53

lougle yours is very similar to my boy :)

We think we know the cross....any guesses?

Ooh yours looks a bit fox-houndy on the nose. His snout is very delicate!

ender · 22/05/2015 10:21

chelle - what a beautiful dog! He looks so happy. GSD, mixed with a bit of welsh corgi and alaskan malamute and a few others??
I love mixed breeds (why did they stop being called mongrels?) so much more interesting than pedigree dogs.

chelle792 · 22/05/2015 10:42

ender I affectionately call my boy a mutt. He's a very happy boy and is always smiling. lougle you're right, he does look very foxy. Sometimes I look at him and think 'blimey'.
I'm just trying to find a better pic of his body shape, that might help identify. He's around the 30 kilo mark

I was going to say border collie and Alsatian.

A friend has a dog of this cross which looks like yours and hers is smaller than most border collies and certainly smaller than an Alsatian.

Bubble2bubble · 22/05/2015 18:01

I would have said GSD collie as well
Just loving all these fab GSD crosses, all stunning :)

chelle792 · 23/05/2015 06:10

Yeah, he's a gsd x collie

chelle792 · 23/05/2015 06:10

Love all the cross breed pics, btw

GerundTheBehemoth · 23/05/2015 06:23

Would anyone like to have a try at my sister's dog? She (the dog, not my sister) is from rural SW France. I don't have a good side-on body pic but she is quite leggy and greyhoundy.

Kitsmummy one's definitely a chicken Smile, not sure about the other two.

faitaccompli · 24/05/2015 21:15

Anyone want to guess what my dog is - she is approx the size of a small/medium lab and weighs around 22 kilos. 18 months old with a curly non shedding coat ....

basildonbond · 24/05/2015 21:23

Kits - big one's a border x of some kind? And littlie is pugxchihuahua?

Fait - your dog is the spitting image of a labradoodle we met a couple of weeks ago so I'm going with that (am probably wrong though...)

faitaccompli · 24/05/2015 21:42

BB - nope - not a labradoodle. You are partly correct though.

Bubble2bubble · 24/05/2015 21:44

fait I'll go out on a limb and say Irish water spaniel x

kits I would say border terrier x and the little one possibly a pug x cavalier?

The one with the red fur on his head.....tricky.....

faitaccompli · 24/05/2015 21:57

Not an Irish water spaniel :)

Bubble2bubble · 24/05/2015 22:00

Hmm...likes the water though!
Collie x poodle?

faitaccompli · 25/05/2015 11:16

B2B - you are as close as I think anyone will get! She is a standard poodle crossed with an Australian Shepherd (which looks pretty close to a collie) - apparently the white tip of the tail is something that collies pass on to all crosses? And yes - she adores the water (currently soaking wet having been in and out of the Thames all morning!)

Bubble2bubble · 25/05/2015 22:25

Oh wow what a mix - she is fab! dreams of lovely non shedding dog
