There is something else you can do as well.
This is a tragedy, and lots of us are in tears, heartbroken for those poor dogs. I'm too far from Manchester to do anything practical, as are a lot of us. There are also a lot of us without any spare cash to make donations, nor ability to get food/blankets/cages etc.
So. I did what I have been meaning to do since I moved, and I've looked up my nearest Dog Rescue Centre and emailed the tonight to ask about volunteering for them.
Maybe they need dog walkers (that's how I started at the rescue in Oxford), or someone to help 'muck out', or to fundraise, or even to volunteer in their charity shop (if they have one).
We could even foster. Some dogs just don't get on in kennels, or pups that need socialising in homes or with kids, or oldies that just need a nice place to die.
Maybe we could make something good come out of this?
