Unbelievable :( Poor doggies... why would someone do this? I just don't understand it :(

DiaDuit · 11/09/2014 21:26

Fucking hell! What a piece of shit to do that. What reason could they have? Baffled. Those poor poor creatures. Also hoping the fumes got them before any pain or awareness of the chaos. Sad poor babies.

EveDallasRetd · 11/09/2014 21:27

Oh fuck. Just fuck.

I don't know what to say, absolutely heartbreaking, I can't stop crying thinking of those poor doggies. What a unbelievably cruel and horrendous thing to do, senseless. Hmm

plinkyplonks · 11/09/2014 21:41

If you'd like to donate, you can do so at:

VMG Page: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charity-web/charity/finalCharityHomepage.action?charityId=1005201 or

Just Giving Page (seems to be running slow at the mo): www.justgiving.com/dogshome

SecretNutellaFix · 11/09/2014 21:42

Guys- if one good thing comes out of this. If you are able, can you look at maybe volunteering in some way to help at your own local rescue?

plinkyplonks · 11/09/2014 21:42

Apologies didn't see frownyface post!

LesleyKnopeFan · 11/09/2014 21:42

I've donated and I'm now looking onto volunteering.

SecretNutellaFix · 11/09/2014 21:42

Give to the smaller local rescues as well. They will be the ones homing the remainder of the dogs.

ClaimedByMe · 11/09/2014 21:43

Awful just awful, I am crying reading it on sky news:( poor poor doggies :(

handcream · 11/09/2014 21:45

What scum bag does something like this?

Thing he is won't get what he deserves will he....

curiousgeorgie · 11/09/2014 21:46

This is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe someone would purposely do this, those poor dogs Sad

Ill donate now and post it on my Facebook page.

EveDallasRetd · 11/09/2014 21:48

There is something else you can do as well.

This is a tragedy, and lots of us are in tears, heartbroken for those poor dogs. I'm too far from Manchester to do anything practical, as are a lot of us. There are also a lot of us without any spare cash to make donations, nor ability to get food/blankets/cages etc.

So. I did what I have been meaning to do since I moved, and I've looked up my nearest Dog Rescue Centre and emailed the tonight to ask about volunteering for them.

Maybe they need dog walkers (that's how I started at the rescue in Oxford), or someone to help 'muck out', or to fundraise, or even to volunteer in their charity shop (if they have one).

We could even foster. Some dogs just don't get on in kennels, or pups that need socialising in homes or with kids, or oldies that just need a nice place to die.

Maybe we could make something good come out of this?

I used to volunteer at a rescue and loved it, would recommend anyone to get involved-you can usually do as little or as much as you like. I am wheelchair bound and so not much help :(

Back to manchester-it appears a couple went over a fence to get 20 of the dogs put to safety. For each act of evil there are acts of kindness.

I have spent all evening giving out links to my doggy friends and fb pages-the firefighters are requesting no one else is to turn up, it must be chaotic there.

Please do donate even just a couple of pound, and/or look into your local resue centres who are sorely in need of help-i imagine the dogs that arent fostered will be spread around the country, I think dogs trust are getting involved in that side of things too.

Still utterly sickening :(

I am hearing on facebook they have an 8 year old boy in custody, not confirmed though

frownyface · 11/09/2014 22:17

An 8 year old? Shock

OP posts:
hmc · 11/09/2014 22:22

8 years old? Well that's a child who has had a fucked up life to do something like that. A tragedy all round.

The couple who rescued 20 dogs - that's good to hear.

Funny you should say that EveDallas - I've been reading about fostering dogs tonight. I have to wait until my pup is 12 months old and neutered though

lostmymarblesbutfoundthewine · 11/09/2014 22:23

I read a young male but 8. Christ that's just something I can't comprehend

DirtyBlonde · 11/09/2014 22:26

BBC article here in which they say a juvenile is in custody.
