Dogs period please help! It's abnormal

Hi, I have a German shepherd and she had come off her period about 3months ago but now seems to be back on. Should I be worried? Please leave comments

Dogs can have their 'season' (AKA period) every 3-6 months so nothing to worry about.

It could also be a pyo. 3 months is very short for a shepherd I would get her checked out.

I been thinking to get her checked to just to be on he safe side. And I will be doing that too as she's not been eating her food and being sick at both ends unfortunately. Thank you for your comment.

If she is poorly like this down the vets tomorrow she has many of the signs of a pyo.

I'm sure i'll be shot down but you have an un spayed bitch and you call her seasons periods? You don't know how many times she can come into season a year and you don't know what pyrometra is? What doyou know??

Please take your dog to the vet before Monday. Pyo is very serious and waiting that long, if it is pyo, could be really bad for her.

Our bitch had a pyo last month which led to an emergency hysterectomy 2 hours after she saw the vet. She had the symptoms you describe. We didn't realise how serious pyo could be until our vet said to prepare for the worst. You need to get her seen before Monday at an out of hours practice.

Pyo symptoms can be a bloody discharge, off their food, sickness and generally seeming unwell. Our bitch had all of the above, as does OP's.

What's it anyone's business if she's neutered or not. I just asked a simple question. What I know about dogs is never of your business either I asked for a simple answer of what people could have thought not go into my life story. I have had this dog for 4 years and all her periods has been the same twice a year, so what was merely was a question is turning into a biggy for some.

They really aren't periods!

But if it is a pyo, Monday is too late. You really need to ring your vet and at least talk to them tonight - all vets have 24hr cover and it doesn't cost anything to talk to them.

Do you know how to check a dogs temperature?

All I looked for was some advice not a load of people trying to put me down I have spoken to a vet that's why I said Monday as they feel that appointment appropriate, I have tried to get her seen sooner but they insist that it will be fine. I care and love my dog and wouldn't want anyhing to happen to her. Temperature is fine and I took it from her arsehole.
