I had my name down with a breeder for a boy in August but she only had bitches and two boys in litter, I was 3rd on waiting list....Then I was waiting on a breeder who had had a pup returned after a few weeks as the owners 'could not commit' , I mean wtf! Then after waiting a few weeks she decided pup would need an experienced owner. Ihave spent al my time since trawling rescue sites and applying for dogs that I want without success and looking for a new breeder with a pup ready NOW. It is totally exasperating. A breeder in Lewes had a liter with no yellow dogs. it is totally pissing me off tbh. I can see why people (of lesser characther ) resort to byb's and unethical breeders! I won;tdo that obvs but I am frustrated! Rant over

When we got our rescue dog, we were advised to change her name - new name, new start, kinda thing - but she was an adult dog, so this was probably more important for her than it would be for a pup. Porridge is a very cute name, and a very cute pup too - and I am now wildly [henvy] as I would love another lab, and a golden one would give me the full set. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you, WTF, and hoping that the adoption process goes well. I firmly believe that, if a dog is meant for you, the process will go smoothly.

So pleased for you, he looks gorgeous and I'm amazed it was all done so quickly - have they already done a homecheck as well? And do you have to visit or can you go after homecheck to pick up already?

I am currently bearing a grudge as the kitchen still smells of dog crack liver cake.

They interviewed me over the phone and said that I sound like we are offering a lovely home . They are organising a homecheck and then would like us to meet Porridge over the next two to three days! I do hava a prob as dd is not here for a few days as she is staying with old friends from where we used to live. We do have to travel to Llanelli but I'm quite hopeful all will go well. When she rings me back I will tell her about previous homechecks and hope that will suffice. I'm a bit concerned about the journey tbh but it is only once so we can do it. Thanks all for your help! I hope it all goes well, their description "quite calm and gentle" sounds lovely, doesn't it. I wonder whether, as a rescue, they have to show you that puppy has been checked by a vet and all's ok? Is this your first dog?

lt - yes it will be our first. The MT lady who rang me was very enthusiastic about Porridge and said she would love a pup like him!
