I am absolutely devastated ...

My Basset was in a road traffic accident this morning, he escaped when front door was open and ran into the road, was knocked down by a car.

When i got to him he was lying unresponsive in the road, not moving at all!
We manged to get him to the emergency vets ... he has a head injury and is in a very bad way Sad

We are now at home just waiting ... i am in bits ... Sad Sad, he is 7 and is my baby, had him from a little pup and i love his sooo much

Please lovely doggy people, pray he will make it

It must have been a terrible experience for you to see Happydog like that. You're right - they are our babies aren't they?

I just don't know what to do with myself, am sat in the study and overlooking the road where it happened Sad

I want to be with him, when he was in the road i was whispering to him and i'm sure he recognised my voice as he started to move a little ....but now he is in vets and wasn't moving at all when i left him

Thanks for all your support but just returned from vet, Stanley didn't make it SadSadSad

He was a beautiful boy and the best friend anyone could have wished for.

We love you Stanley x

I am actually here all alone as the rest of the family are away for a couple of days, (they know about accident but i haven't told them the worst yet Sad) but i do have our little dog, Arthur, with me.

He will be so lonely as Stan has been there for him all his life, he was his big brother and they spent all their time together, he is a bit lost at the moment and seems to know something's not right as he wont leave my side.

So thank you again, i don't feel quite so alone knowing you are sending Stan your love

Read this and had to post. We have a four year old beagle and family would be devastated if anything happened to her. So sorry, i can only imagine how you must be feeling. xx

I'm so sorry,it's always sad to lose a dog but that is a terribly terribly sad & shocking way for you to.have lost him. RIP Stanley.
