Today whist out for a walk...a dog owner was yelling for her dog in the park. At speed a Jack Russell called....Shackleton...comes flying out of some bushes.

Big name, small dog! IMO Brilliant Grin

Still chuckling at Liability (Billy). I've got a Bulldog called Rupert, his kennel name was Honky Tonk man but I'm not standing in a field and yelling out Honky.

When Rupert has gone to the big field in the sky we're going to have two dogs called Randolph & Mortimer, like the old guys in Trading Places.

ds2 is desperate for a basset, it is the best dog ever according to him.

He asked me if we could trade one of our dogs for a basset, and i said no but would consider trading him for one Grin

RedAmberGreen · 07/08/2011 19:02

Pekkala · 07/08/2011 19:15

A wiry hound called Skarnish - perfect!

catinboots · 08/08/2011 01:19

I have to admit that DD3 (darling dog 3) might think that his actual name is 'Fuck Offfffff'.

He is a royal pain in the arse though Blush

catinboots · 08/08/2011 01:27

He is a puppy we bred and he came back to us through no fault of his own, so we call him Boomerang. Nothing bad about him but he just happens to be hugely irritating the 3rd dog in the family and three dogs is just one dog too many Smile

catinboots · 08/08/2011 01:39

Totally outing myself here, but my mum's cat is called Carlos O'Brian. Named after a dodgy restaurant I went to in Mexico about 15 years ago

QuietTiger · 08/08/2011 18:18

We have a Fresian Holstein bull called "Colin". I also know of a hereford bull called "Baby". Our shetland pony is called "Doughnut".

LordOfTheFlies · 08/08/2011 23:28

Read a book years ago about a family who moved to the country and "inherited" a little, chubby, black elderly Shetland Pony called Plum.

Sweet name for a pony!

catinboots · 09/08/2011 03:50

I used to work in a riding school and we had a pair of tiny ponies called Cheese and Pickle. That was fine, until Pickle was sold, leaving us with a random pony called Cheese!

catinboots · 09/08/2011 03:51

QuietTiger I remember our first bull dad bred was called Vanguard (They were Simmentals) - we were lucky as the registration letter that year was V and we only had him to name. As the years went on the names got steadily more random as we had to find multiple names each year starting with the same letter!

The funniest bit was taking the bulls for a walk (halter training ready for showing) and meeting dog walkers coming the other way - their faces were hilarious!Grin

I know a Border Terrier called "Super Ted" or Ted for short :)

textpest · 09/08/2011 15:24

we had rats called Marcus, Ted and Optimus Prime, which made every trip to the vets an exercise in humiliation as people with labradors called Rufus, Ralph and Rover were literally hysterical with laughter.

textpest · 09/08/2011 15:25

A guy near where I work has two staffs called Johnny and Baby. Bet his girlfriend named them!

lisad123 · 09/08/2011 23:29
