Today whist out for a walk...a dog owner was yelling for her dog in the park. At speed a Jack Russell called....Shackleton...comes flying out of some bushes.

Big name, small dog! IMO Brilliant Grin

I met a little cross breed dog that was named by her 4 year old owner. Her name was spiderman-Rose

I meant to add to one of my earlier posts, that Boris is a miniature dachshund that my bf got when he was still with his ex wife a few years ago. He was 7 months old when they got him, the last of a litter by a breeder who usually bred sharpeis (irrelevant info there), but were moving to Scotland. They had pretty much decided to keep Boris as their own, but advertised him one final time which is when my bf took him.

It was my bf who named him Boris though, as the breeder had called him sausage Grin.

BooyHoo · 06/08/2011 21:19

my goldie is called wonderbear marmaduke

BettyTurnip · 06/08/2011 21:20

Some wonderful names on here; particularly fond of Jerry (springer...spaniel). Our golden retriever's name is quite blokey, don't want to out myself but it's in the same vein as Dave and Steve.

Alan Carr had his two Irish Setters on his show - Bev and Joyce. Fabulous!

megapixie · 06/08/2011 22:43

Terrier named Potato

hatwoman · 06/08/2011 22:56

I will completely out myself here, but I've always worked on the assumption that I'm identifiable so never post anything I wouldn't mind being public

I know dogs called Albert (full name Albert Twit), Colin, Hector and Trousers; a cat called Little My and a gerbil called Too Ticky.

Bunbaker · 06/08/2011 22:58

A border terrier called Giro

Wonder if he'll end up abbreviated to Cat?! Pirate is a great name.

midori1999 · 06/08/2011 23:19

We heard a news story on the radio whilst in the car once. It was a bout a staff who had won an ward for something but I forget what it was. However, his name had been 'Oi!', which we both thought was great, the news reader could hardly say it she was laughing so much.

Also, not a real dog, but my sister had a toy dog growing up that was called 'Ambroscious, Flopsy, Galorious'. Bless her! Smile

foolserrand · 06/08/2011 23:23

We walk our two (Cromwell and Bourchier) with a female collie called Indiana Jones.

SingingSands · 06/08/2011 23:34

We used to have an Irish Setter called Sean. The little kids in our street misheard and used to call him "John".

Best is a colleague of DH's who has a cat called Pussy Wussy.

MirandaGoshawk · 06/08/2011 23:35

I would Love to have a springer and a cocker and call them Gerry and Jarvis Grin

CareyHunt · 07/08/2011 00:04

I love a dog with an old man name!

I was on the phone to someone once and She started shouting 'Phillip, Phillip...get out of that bin Phillip'.

Turns out Phillip was next-door's dog.

Also keen on a butch dog with a show-dog name, like an english bull terrier called Fifi, or alternatively a lapdog called Tyson or Sabre!

My dog is just called Joe.
