Morning.

A late and slow start today so lets keep things simple, fruit and yoghurt with a few nuts.

Florence is making drop scones and Fernando is making fruit cocktails.

Hello you!
Help yourself to cinnamon rolls, they're still warm 🤤
What are your plans today?
Mine include having a nap 😂

There has been an update on the cancer support thread 94 in general health from a friend of Tilllly to say she sadly passed away yesterday.

lovinglaughingliving · 25/04/2024 21:31

Goodnight dear @Tilllly and sending good thoughts and light speed to you. I hope you are at peace now, surrounded by all the things you love, rest in perfect paradise. Big snuggles to your DC, DH and daisy dog of course.

💔

sashh · 26/04/2024 00:33

@Tilllly RIP.

Morning.

I keep thinking about @Tilllly. She seemed so lively and lovely and we cannot forget the addition tot he cafe of Leo.

I have a thought and I can't tell if it is a good idea or crass (I can't always read the room IRL) do make a virtual memorial to @Tilllly?

I don't want to upset anyone and her family are more important than anything else.

What are people's thoughts?

@Penguinsa if you are in touch with the friend and this isn't a crass idea then what do you think her family would want / not want?

RIP @Tilllly , I hope her DH and daisy know about this thread and know just how much we will all miss her.

At @sashh i think it depends on how its done, but yes I think it's a nice idea.

Morning all, I think a pudding for breakfast would make me doze off at work , so I will stick with toast and black gloop ( to be consumed at the far end of the garden) but can you save me some treacle sponge for this evening please @sashh .

@lovinglaughingliving , it's hard when you leave a job but under your circumstances I think it's for the best.

I would love that 🥰
When we have things arranged we could pop over to the cancer support thread and invite the people she has provided such support too.
❤️

sashh · 26/04/2024 10:30

I'm happy for people to pop over to the forum but I'm not, it might look like I'm making this about me.

I'm thinking a @Tillly outdoor dog area with a tap and a doggy shower but I am open to suggestions.

OP posts:
Penguinsa · 26/04/2024 10:53

Sashh That's very kind of you, I am not in touch with Tilllly's family, I think the only person who is is a new poster DDClancy who Tilllly asked to let MN know and she posted messages on the Cancer Support thread 94 in general health, the stage 4 thread in life limiting and the dull news thread in chat and I am on the dull news and cancer support ones and occasionally pop over to the stage 4 one when someone has died. I had the details of two other people with cancer who were MNers and died in the last 6 months, one on the dull news and one on the cancer threads.

One was abroad and I just signed her online memorial and let people know on the thread, only had her details. The other, very sadly, had a 5 year old daughter, and I helped organised a Woolly Hugs blanket which lots of lovely MN have knitted and sent a card and present through to her daughter, asking the lady before she died and she was very happy about that.

Might be best to ask DDClancy re Tilllly, the people on the cancer threads will be absolutely fine about you posting to organise a tribute to her though I think some find it difficult when someone dies especially those at stage 4 themselves. When I did advanced search on Tilllly's posts there was a lovely one from the doghouse which include a picture of her and Daisy together from this year and I did wonder about whether maybe with MN help could make that into a tribute thread though I am a little wary as MN can get spammers and also there were some very unkind posts made on another forum about a lady Pamela who died of cancer recently and posted pictures but the overwhelming majority of posters are lovely. Very happy for you to lead it and do what you think best, and would say DDClancy is the most likely to know. She used to talk about Chalet Girl? a lot on the dull thread and obviously Daisy.

SweetPeasOnEarth · 26/04/2024 16:47

I think a tribute for @Tilllly is a kind and thoughtful idea, @sashh And the Happy Place Cafe is the perfect setting where there are only happy memories.

StopGo · 26/04/2024 20:44

RIP @Tilllly

Penguinsa · 26/04/2024 22:16

If anyone's around this evening on the cancer support thread we are having a drink in memory of Tilllly and you are most welcome to join us.

Leo the lemur has been gambolling in the beer garden and stealing peanuts from the bar.

PeopleAreWeird · 27/04/2024 03:29

R.I.P @Tilllly

sashh · 27/04/2024 03:56

Morning all.

Welcome to anyone from the other thread.

I'm sorry I missed the drinks but in honour of @Tilllly I'm doing hangover breakfasts so a full English, Florence is making soda bread and Fernando is preparing a hair of the dog.

In memory of @Tilllly the cafe now has an outside dog shower. The first customer is obviously going to be Daisy and I think Leo can be trained to shower off muddy dogs.

@Penguinsa I am sorry I missed the drinks in memory of @Tilllly , I hope she had a good send off.

I think the dog shower is a lovely idea @sashh and yes I think we can train bribe Leo to wash muddy paws .
I think the ducks will like it too.

Now to breakfast, a full English for me please @sashh and a bloody Mary to wash it down with.

sashh · 27/04/2024 08:28

One full English and a bloody mary on its way.

I contacted @DDClancy who I believe is in contact with the family before doing it so I don't feel I have gone behind anyone's back.

Morning!

Sorry I've been away on Friday night I was attacked by a group of teenagers in front of my DS6&4 and have struggled to... process it. I was just minding my own business watching DS6 karate lesson (he goes 4 times a week- he's becoming very accomplished!)

Yesterday evening two police came to take statements from DH and I. They asked if I wanted to make a formal complaint and I absolutely do because I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I have been through.

DS6 is totally traumatised and refused to go to karate, he won't sleep, he's having nightmares. Honestly, horrific.
DS4 luckily oblivious more or less.

How is everyone? X

SweetPeasOnEarth · 28/04/2024 04:45

@lovinglaughingliving I am so sorry to hear you were attacked..especially in front of your boys. That must have been terrifying for all of you. I hope you are alright and that the teenagers are punished to the full extent of the law. What on earth were they thinking?!

sashh · 28/04/2024 05:13

Morning.

@lovinglaughingliving wow you are having a hard time, I hope you and DS can recover soon.

As it is Sunday I thought we'd have a brunch buffet so eggs, fried, poached and scrambled. Bagels (mde by Florence overnight) toast and jaffles.

Fruit juice (with alcoholic additions from Fernando) of various shades.

A couple of chopped salads, bacon, sausages and hash browns.

Leo is taking on his first shift at the @Tilllly dog shower, pleas bring any doggos who need a freshen up because if he has no dogs I fear he may wash the goats instead.

Morning.

Well yesterday was quiet, I'm going to take Leo on a walk around the petting zoo, I'll be back in a bit.

OP posts:
sashh · 29/04/2024 08:17

OK we are back but as the place is still quiet I'm just going to put out bread, croissants, butter and jam. I'll give F and F a day off.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 29/04/2024 09:31

@lovinglaughingliving oh god I hope you and your DCs are ok.

There are some horrible people out there, I hope the police find and punish the little bastards.

@sashh warm croissants with a bit of blackberry jam please.
And a coffee.
