Morning.

I'm just starting this before the last one fills up.

Excellent. I rarely keep fiction after I’ve read it, so I’ll leave a few books to start.

I'm going to snuggle up in the corner with a non flaky pastry and the Agatha Christie I’m reading.

lovinglaughingliving · 19/04/2024 12:51

sashh · 19/04/2024 06:58

Oh a book corner? Why didn't I think of that?

Morning.

Well today I'm doing bacon and beans on toast, cheese optional.

Florence is going to make some non flaky pastries so you can read without leaving crumbs in the books.

Leo has learned to milk the goats so Fernando is making goats milk vodka cocktails.

Yummo cheese on top for me please!
DELISH.
I'll definitely be snuggled in the book corner, hopefully under lots of blankets.
I'm enjoying my last days relaxing before I start my job on the 7th. X

ScottBakula · 19/04/2024 16:08

Oooh a book corner , i like the sound of that. Can we keep a space for @pollyglots book when it is released.

I missed out on breakfast 🙁so I am hungry, I will snaffle that last pastry and a coffee.

I think Leo believes in the
' two for me one for the bucket ' principle with squrits of milk .

lovinglaughingliving · 19/04/2024 23:59

Is anyone here connected with @Tilllly?
I can't stop thinking about her xx

lovinglaughingliving · 20/04/2024 03:22

I'll open up, kettle is on.
I have a selection of herbal teas as well as my fave Twinnings Extra Strong 1706.
Biscuits and muffins in either Lemon and poppyseed, blueberry or chocolate available.
Fire is roaring, all animals have been out for a wee.

sashh · 20/04/2024 05:58

Morning.

Oh it looks so cosy in here.

Well IRL yesterday's chicken left overs are going in a foil container with a pastry lid and in to the freezer so if anyone wants chicken pie later just ask.

Now breakfast.

I think things that can be eaten in one hand while reading so toasties, breakfast sandwiches, cocktail sausages on cocktail sticks and cheese straws.

Florence is making fruit muffins and Fernando is making fruit cocktails.

Leo is playing librarian so do not expect the to be in any order.

MinnieMountain · 20/04/2024 06:19

Morning @sashh .

A cheese toastie please.

Chicken pie sounds delicious for later.

sashh · 20/04/2024 07:25

One cheese toastie on its way.

The chicken/pie consists of

Chicken in pieces, can be goujons, breast or thigh.
1 pot creme fraiche
1 can condensed mushroom soup
A few frozen chopped onions

It goes in the slow cooker for a few hours and that's it.

I can't stop thinking about her xx

@Tilllly hasn't posted on any of the Cancer Threads for a week or two now. She was in the hospice with breathing difficulties. I fear we may have lost her. I too am thinking about her and Daisy dog. She would want us to have a riotous celebration for her passing I think.

lovinglaughingliving · 20/04/2024 16:38

@TopOfTheCliff thanks, that's about as much as I know too.
We haven't lost her, she may have died but I know she's not lost. ❤️

sashh · 21/04/2024 03:08

Morning.

I hadn't realised how ill @Tilllly is. I hope she returns tot he cafe.

How do we all feel about mushrooms?

I'm going to stuff some portobello mushrooms with bacon and cherry tomatoes before baking them.

White mushrooms on toast. Shiitake with oatmeal.

Florence is baking mushroom tarts and Fernando is making vodka cocktails.

sashh · 22/04/2024 03:21

Morning.

I'm going to take a seat by the book corner and decide what to cook.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 22/04/2024 06:26

Morning @sashh

Can we continue the pudding theme and have apple strudel for breakfast? It’s cold here.

I’ve brought my cat along. She’s particularly cuddly when I’m reading.

sashh · 22/04/2024 07:26

Apple strudel sounds like a fine breakfast, I will get Florence on to it, I'll do an apple crumble and Fernando can do something with calvados.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 22/04/2024 07:30

Yum. I’ll stick around for Elevenses so I can have apple crumble and calvados as well as the strudel.

ScottBakula · 22/04/2024 14:18

Ooh strudel, yes please , with a bit of hot custard.

If there are any mushrooms left over can I have some stuffed with brie and Grilled please ( not on the same plate as the strudel! )

PeopleAreWeird · 23/04/2024 01:10

Hows everyone going this morning?

sashh · 23/04/2024 04:13

Morning.

Well pudding for breakfast seems popular.

So lets have some real puddings, syrup, chocolate, orange and of course spotted dick.

Florence is making bread for anyone who doesn't want a sweet breakfast and Fernando is using perry to make cocktails.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 23/04/2024 11:44

Morning

Chocolate pudding and custard please @sashh .

lovinglaughingliving · 24/04/2024 01:09

I hate all dried fruit so won't be partaking in spotted dick, I'm sorry @sashh.
It's nearly time for a new thread, can we think of some funky name?
I've let the animals out for wee, lit the fire and kettle is on for a brew. Raiding the pantry for snacks too!
I went into hospice yesterday, handed back my ID badge and cleared my locker. Honestly felt so tearful but I know that it's the right decision.
Onward and upwards as they say.
How are we all?
@ScottBakula @sashh
@Tilllly - I miss you ❤️

sashh · 24/04/2024 04:23

Morning

@lovinglaughingliving I bet you had a sense of relief handing the badge in.

I'm worrying about @Tilllly too. I wonder if MNHQ could contact her? I know they can't give us details due to data protection.

Before I get to breakfast @lovinglaughingliving I bet I can change your mind on all dried fruit.

You need:
1/2 a packet of dried apricots
Water
Brie
Streaky bacon

Soak the apricots overnight they will puff up to look like egg yolks with a slit in them

Chop the brie into small pieces and stuff in the apricot slit.

Wrap them in bacon, you only need half a rasher.

Put on a baking tray in the oven for 15 mins.

Now to breakfast.

I want something simple so beans on toast with optional cheese and bacon.

Florence is making coconut macaroons and Fernando is making pina coladas.

Morning,
I am listening to my audiobook, haven't slept yet! Combination of restless legs and both my boys are in my bed!
That sounds good actually, bit like devils on horse back but extra! 😂
I tell a lie actually I do like dried cherries 😂
Good thinking re: MNHQ, I'd like to light a candle and send my good thoughts to wherever she is, I hope that she's not in pain or distress and has Daisy dog at her side 🥰

sashh · 24/04/2024 06:35

OK I have asked MNHQ to pass on best wishes if they can.

Yes I got the idea from angels and devils on horseback, I don't like prunes or oysters so I improvised.

OP posts:
lovinglaughingliving · 25/04/2024 01:45

Morning all.
I'll open up, put the kettle on and teapot is warmed and on the brew.
I've let the menagerie out, will take them for a walk around the threads soon to stretch their legs.
Fairy lights on and cushions plumped up in book corner, kids corner also tidied!
What's for breakfast?
I fancy cinnamon buns with lashings of icing 🤤

MinnieMountain · 25/04/2024 05:54

Morning

Cinnamon roles works for me. I’ll have a potter around the petting zoo first.
