Morning.

Well due to requests I'm making Canadian pancakes and Irish stew!

Florence will make some cocoanut biscuits and Fernando is making some sort of cocktail that goes with stew and maple syrup.

And the door stop bread @sashh?
It's freezing here

sashh · 07/01/2024 06:18

Yes Florence will bake some bread.

Florence is our 🦸‍♀️

sashh · 08/01/2024 01:28

Morning.

It's cold and wet here so I think chocolate would be a reasonable breakfast.

Florence is making various chocolate cakes, chocolate torte and chocolate cheese cake.

I'm making nutella on toast and Fernando has hot chocolate based cocktails on the go.

Good morning all

@sashh I don't normally have chocolate for breakfast but I think chocolate torte and a hot chocolate with a shot of tia Maria would go down well.

sashh · 08/01/2024 03:54

@ScottBakula You should try it sometime IRL.

A good call on the tia maria.

Me too without the dried fruit

And some tuna in a bowl....

sashh · 09/01/2024 00:52

Morning.

So it looks like it is baked apples for breakfast today. I'll get Florence to make some madeleines and I'm sure Fernando can come up with something to go with the apples, maybe mulled cider.

Tuna? For the cat? Not a problem, I have some dreamies somewhere too.

And they go from lava to ice in a blink!

ColinRobinsonsFart · 10/01/2024 01:46

Can I come in?
I have had an hours sleep but woke up panicking thinking my DHs colostomy had burst! I heard him say 'oh bollocks' and I leapt out of bed ready todo battle! He was talking in his sleep....😴

And I am in pain - I have taken codeine and paracetamol and ibuprofen but I still hurt. I have ankylosing spondylitis .
I am a lecturer and have worked today - I only do four or five days a month due to my disabilities. and it kills me - my legs and hips are particularly painful.

so can i have a mint tea please? i cant have anything else to eat or drink as i am also prediabetic and i am trying to reverse it.

sorry for the pity party - dont mind me, i will sit and read 40 yr old readers digests in the corner...

Tilllly · 10/01/2024 02:16

Of course @ColinRobinsonsFart

But only if you explain the user name to me!!!

You can eat anything here, @sashh has a magic touch so it has no effect. And magnificent chefs so put your order in

If you sit in the corner, the kittenbees will pounce on you

Pain is awful
Ask your pharmacist for something and if they can't help, get to GP. There isn't any reason to be in pain

ScottBakula · 10/01/2024 06:25

@Tilllly , you are right , and they are not nice cold.

@ColinRobinsonsFart , welcome , make yourself comfy . All of the food and drink in here is safe for you to eat , so you can have sugar laden cake and it has no calories or affect on diabetes.

Been in pain really does suck , I hope your day goes well.

I think some of them readers digest belong to my great gran but they still make interesting reading 🙂📖

I haven't had this in years and now reaalllly want one! It's good with mincemeat in, and I have a jar of that and some cooking apples from a friend's tree, I will totally be doing this tonight! 🥳

Also hello, I'm new to this thread, hope there is room for one more?

Awake early because <reason unknown> but probably influenced by an earlier than usual start time at work today.

What are Canadian pancakes please? Sounds delicious!

Tilllly · 10/01/2024 06:50

Come on in @Grimchmas 👋🏻 🫂
Always room for one more!

ScottBakula · 10/01/2024 07:51

@Grimchmas good morning and welcome.

Umm if you happen to have any left over baked apples could you slide one over here please.

I have never tried them with mince meat but I like mice pies so definitely willing to sample one.

sashh · 10/01/2024 23:51

Morning.

Well late evening, it has been an odd day, sorry I wasn't around.

It looks like apples are popular, I'll get Florence on to making tart tatin, Fernando has mulled cider and I'll stick some more apples in the oven.
