Neighbours: what the frick has happened to Ringo?

Jeans so tight I'm sure he'll never father children. High-pitched whiney singing in public. Bizarre headwear. What will be next?!

OP posts:
thisismyclone · 15/06/2010 09:47

Who me?

I could if you wanted me to!

Winetimeisfinetime · 15/06/2010 10:13

I agree that Ringo looks ridiculous in those jeans that are so tight they represent a real hazard to his 'gentlemen's area' - I assume he is supposed to have come back from Sydney all super trendy.

But what I really want to know is why the frick has he come back at all ? I was so glad to see the back of him first time. So to now have him back and inflicting his whiney song on everybody is most unwelcome.

I think there is too much emphasis on the teenagers now in Neighbours anyway, without bringing him back. There needs to be some better storylines for the older characters, other than the the ludicrous Steph/ Toadie thing. which the actors themselves don't even look convinced about. We need something juicy for the old gimmers like say Lynn having an affair with Dr Karl

anonacfr · 15/06/2010 12:32

Agreed (love your name btw). Paul has just turned all boring as well- his feud with Lynn was quite entertaining for a while.
We need him to be evil and cheat on Rebecca or something.

Thisismyclone. Yes, you.

I seem to remember an Aussie-based poster teasing with Neighbours gossip and I thought it was you.
At the time we had requested a spoiler thread but it never emerged. It would be great if you could indulge us!!!!

hotcrossbunny · 15/06/2010 12:45

What's with the Coca Cola product placement? It's so distracting!

Can't believe Declan/James is going I never get on well with new actors playing existing characters

thisismyclone · 15/06/2010 16:20

No worries..will start one tomorrow

prettybird · 15/06/2010 16:44

I agree - dh and I just can't understand why Steph didn't jsut say she had a one-night stand with an anonymous bastard when she was drunk. She culd even have admitted to seeing Libby kissing Lucas and having been upset. Much less damaging than these complicated shenanigans.

Why destroy five peoples's lives (and I include the unborn baby in that) jsut to save the feelings of one person - when a simple "one night stand" could have sorted it?

I agree about Ringo's jeans and hat!

Dh and I work from home and Neighbours is our secret early afternoon vice

anonacfr · 15/06/2010 18:04

Prettybird I so understand...

She's so insensitive about the way she's treated Toadie and Sonya most of all. She's seriously arguing that after the baby's born they can just split up and if Toadie and Sonya are 'meant to be', they'll just get back together and all goes back to normal.

From Sonya's perspective, her supposedly devoted boyfriend cheated on her with his ex, out of nowhere shacked up with said ex and announced his impeding fatherhood and once he's suddenly left the mother of his baby, she's expected to meekly take him back???

You can tell I'm thinking about this too much. .
Btw thisismyclone I have already started a spoiler thread. You just need to fill it with spoilers!

bathbuns · 15/06/2010 20:18

Although it's a rubbish storyline, I have to say I can't wait for it all to come out between Steph and Libby. Cue lots of screaming and smashing plant pots.

And I'm another one who wishes James Sorensen was staying. The new actor looks far too pretty.

vmcd28 · 16/06/2010 23:05

Declan, don't go!! My 5yo ds won't understand any of that! !
Ringo, I was glad to see the back of you! You are a dreadful actor and now a dreadful singer too. Donna is far too hot for you.
Hang on, they won't be reading this, will they?

WhatShallMyNameBe · 18/06/2010 17:56

How come Kate can suddenly become a teacher? don't you need a degree in history or whatever subject she is teaching first? I can't believe that it is really the case that you can leave High School one year and then go back the next as a teacher.

vmcd28 · 18/06/2010 18:08

I know! And it was the first time it had even been mentioned!
thank god the steph storyline is starting to come out into the open!!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 18/06/2010 20:52

I think they mentioned she was going to uni to study teaching. I do love the fact that obviously there is only one school in the entire surrounding area for her to do her teaching practice in so about 2 weeks after finishing school she can go back and teach her brother. Hum.

Although...did she not get a place in a dance troupe? Or was that whole bitchy dancer story line just for one dance production?

leavingonajetplane · 18/06/2010 20:56

I am genuinely going to miss James Sorenson. His acting was way too good at times for Neighbours. Slightly crappy overindulgent acting is meant to be part of the experience. And he couldnt quite sink low enough at times, he kept acting well despite the stuff he had to say . Hope he turns up in the future in something unexpected, like Billy Kennedy in "House"

I reckon Ringo is back as the actors music career hasnt quite taken off so Neighbours is being used as a willing vehicle. Perhaps he dresses like that to perform in RL..

Anyone remember when Paul (Stephan Dennis) tried to have an 80s pop career? Dire stuff

Tortoise · 18/06/2010 21:03

leavingonajetplane That Stefan Dennis song was the first single i ever bought!

I was wondering how Kate was suddenly able to be a student teacher. I thought she was dancing!

2shoes · 18/06/2010 21:11

i wondered that, she only left school about a month ago

vmcd28 · 18/06/2010 21:33

Plus, why does each lesson have pupils from 5 different age groups?!

2shoes · 18/06/2010 23:05

I wondered why she was teaching in her local school, that not only had she just left, but she has 2 siblings there

WhatShallMyNameBe · 19/06/2010 13:09

Maybe they realised that the fact that the actress is not actually a fantastic hot shot dancer, hinders the whole dancing storyline somewhat. Teaching is a bit safer

EasilyConfusedIndith · 21/06/2010 14:00

Noooooo! New Head!

bathbuns · 22/06/2010 18:34

Why does Neighbours feel the need to bring in a psycho character every so often?

And did you ever notice that they reform a fair few of them and let them become normal after a bit? Donna was one, can't remember the others off the top of my head, but there have been more.

Katz · 22/06/2010 18:37

tis yet another implausible storyline!

leavingonajetplane · 22/06/2010 19:45

Thst true Donna was an obsessive fan for Ty, had forgotten that. Hope this isnt one of the ones that sticks around but fear we may be due another female to balance Zeke/Ringo/Declan in that bunch. Shouldve just let Declan leave. His own mother never spoke to him the first episode he changed head - did she miss the memo?

anonacfr · 24/06/2010 19:44

What the hell is wrong with Lynn???? She's trying to sabotage Libby's relationship with new doctor cos she's scared he will blab about the father of Steph's baby- something he has no idea about, as Steph herself told her.

This is beyond me.

Poor Libby. Screwed over by mother and daughter.

Katz · 24/06/2010 21:38

this story just gets on getting more crazy by the day! how much longer do we have to suffer it?

leavingonajetplane · 26/06/2010 18:44

A fair while I think Katz. It appears to be the crux of the plotlines for the year.

Lynn is always just teethering on that very thin line between sanity and crazed neighbours character.
