This was a tv series which I absolutely loved! I watched it from the very first episode and and that time it was just so very different! And so rude!!! I've now got both series on DVD and do rewatch now and again but I was so disappointed in the one off special they did a few years back.
I loved Miles - the Jack Davenport character - but I realise that Egg was really the one you should get together with - the nice boy next door one.

Two things I never understood.

Why was Miles so obsessed with Delilah the 'model'? She really didn't seem his type.
And why did Anna like Rachel? Anna seemed to have a great BS detector and yet she didn't mind Rachel manipulating and flirting with the guys in the house. She also thought Milly was paranoid about not trusting her.

I always thought that didn't fit with the character.

Wasn't Francesca annoying btw?

Valpollicella · 26/04/2010 20:40

Francesca, ugh. So smarmy that she had hooked Miles.

He was obsessed with Delilah (ta Timmy) as she was a nympho I reckon

Anna and Rachel -maybe she kept up a front to bring out Milly's hard side

Oh and Warren. Bless him. Loved him, always just wanted to him

CJCregg · 26/04/2010 21:02

Oh, I loved them all.

Graham, the smug but incredibly sharp black lawyer who caught Anna doing coke in the ladies - fab character!

Yep, Delilah was a dirty bitch and clearly the sort of girl Miles' parents would have hated, hence the attraction.

Think Anna recognised Rachel as another player and had respect for that. I think she liked Milly but sort of despised her or at least thought she was hopeless.

One of my (many) favourite bits was Egg 'deviating from the script' on the telesales job. Fucking hilarious.

Anna shamelessly shagging dishy Joe and looking blankly at him when he suggested a 'second date'. Oh, and her reading porn to somebody's child as a bedtime story ... God, I love Anna.

Must stop now, in danger of looking truly sad.

I'd marry Jack Davenport tomorrow

hattyyellow · 26/04/2010 21:25

I loved that series. As a student it was the one thing we would watch without fail. I also fancied Jack Davenport rotten. And (random claim to fame) Delilah went to my school (sixth form when I was starting). She was fantastic in school plays. Sadly she didn't seem to make it big in anything after This Life.

Valpollicella · 26/04/2010 22:01

I think she was trying to give her a chance CJ, like she liked her, but she thought she should grow a spine, and was giving her time to do so before casting her off. When she smacked Rachel, I bet Anna thought 'Yeah. I can be friends with her

Jack has not ages. Well. A bit but I'll fogive himas it was 15 () years ago

Snooks14 · 26/04/2010 22:14

Valpollicella - the anorexic from the first series was Deliah - though not sure if I spelt that right.
And yep Miles was a twat but very, very fancible.
Egg was just a sweetheart and the one that you knew you should really end up with.

I still can't see it. Rachel was the type of girl that guys would find sweet and girls would despise, particularly girls like Anna.

Graham was such a cool character I loved the way he was so arrogant and mysterious, very attractive too!

I still remember watching the last ever episode... I was temping at my first ever job in an art gallery and the whole place was waiting to see if Miles was really going to marry Francesca. In the end the wedding took place in a couple of minutes, and the whole ending was about Egg and Milly.

And then Warren showed up.... Possibly one of the most perfect series ending ever.

Valpollicella · 26/04/2010 22:48

Oh! When Warren showed up...

Classic!!!

wasabipeanut · 26/04/2010 22:51

I loved it. Might have to introduce DH to it on DVD. We are always on the look out for good box sets as there seems so little of I interest at the moment. Another Jack Davenport fan here and I still am. Would have given up on Flash Forward some time ago were it not for that redeeming feature.

I loved Anna too. Tried to explain to DH about the show when I spotted a very pregnant Daniella Nardini at Mauritius airport a few years back when returning from our honeymoon. She still looked fab.

Yes Dittany, I think that was it, his voice!

(have a think for voices )

Poledra · 26/04/2010 22:55

I loved this series, but would you all just feck off with your 'this was my favourite series when I was a teenager.'

I was the same age as the characters, and you're making me feel old.

Valpollicella · 26/04/2010 22:58

I was 15 when the first series was on, sorry Poledra!

Made me Want to be one of these fab adults with money for booze and music and stuff :D

DarrellRivers · 26/04/2010 22:58

Oh yes, hattyyellow, we have established that we went to the same school.
I have just come on here to post that i knew Delilah from my school and seen you got here first. She never did much after This Life did she?
what year did you leave?

CJCregg · 26/04/2010 22:58

Why have we all got crushes on Miles? Yes, the voice, and the way he smoked red Marlboros, and the Arthur/Martha comment, but really?

I know, I know - there's no real explanation but I can't help it. A friend of mine always had a crush on Andrew Lincoln and everyone used to laugh at her.

Who can remember Warren's only line/word when he turned up at the wedding?

Ah, memories ... I'm off to hunt for some quotes ...

WhatSheSaid · 26/04/2010 23:00

Warren's word was "Outstanding!' I think?

CJCregg · 26/04/2010 23:00

Poledra, I was the same age as the characters, in first job after university etc. I was them, you see?

teenagers,

CJCregg · 26/04/2010 23:01

Oh, well done, whatshesaid - your prize is a pot of yoghurt (one owner, mysteriously vanished).

wintera · 26/04/2010 23:03

Was it "Outstanding" ???

wintera · 26/04/2010 23:04

ooops sorry double post . . too late!

CJCregg · 26/04/2010 23:05

Sorry, wintera - you're right but just too late. Have a glass of post-party urine instead (trivia fact - the actor who played the guy who drank the piss was Martin Freeman).

I really, really need to get my coat now.

Poledra · 26/04/2010 23:13

They didn't really understand it, all those teenagers, really. I'd just got together with the man who would become DH - we were so there with This Life
