I really enjoyed it, but was a bit confused as to what year it was set in. Originally, when someone said 'a bomb could kill us any minute' and then we heard what sounded like an air raid siren,I assumed it was during the war and then couldn't understand why all the husbands were at home instead of off fighting. Then I thought it was probably set just after the war until they started talking about the queen coming to visit. In retrospect, the teddy boy outfit should have been a clear indication that it was set well into the fifties .

Really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the 2nd part BUT can someone please tell me what Billie Piper's sister is out of? Its bugging me! Thanks

I saw this on stage years ago. Doreen Mantle(Mrs Warboys from One foot in the Grave) played Betty. She was excellent!!

Nope joni, I loved part 2, cried my eyes out.

Didn't watch the end because it was annoying me so much. I completely loved part one. Just thought this week was clunky.

Yeah, I gave up after she'd sat on the roof. Was she supposed to be having a complete mental breakdown?

But still a bit extreme. And she suddenly recovered from her utter breakdown to make it back to the wedding....

Could have been better. First part so so fab...

DH and I thought she was going upstairs to commit suicide, but we quite enjoyed the ending.

See I didn't really enjoy the first part, just couldn't get how she could fall for such a bullshitter. Dunno, must be a long time since I was young and starry eyed.

Total letdown.
I loved the first part but that was just pants.
