Yes, I took it to mean a nuclear bomb. Theo ? is very lovely, I agree.

OrmRenewed · 12/04/2010 12:37

Yes. Was good. But curly hair doesn't suit Billy Piper - she looked like a bloody King Charles spaniel

swanandduck · 12/04/2010 13:27

I really enjoyed it, but was a bit confused as to what year it was set in. Originally, when someone said 'a bomb could kill us any minute' and then we heard what sounded like an air raid siren,I assumed it was during the war and then couldn't understand why all the husbands were at home instead of off fighting. Then I thought it was probably set just after the war until they started talking about the queen coming to visit. In retrospect, the teddy boy outfit should have been a clear indication that it was set well into the fifties .

LouMacca · 12/04/2010 13:56

Really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the 2nd part BUT can someone please tell me what Billie Piper's sister is out of? Its bugging me! Thanks

cheesesarnie · 12/04/2010 14:00

cheesesarnie · 12/04/2010 14:04

Lizzylou · 12/04/2010 14:06

I have been having lots of very impure thoughts about Billie Piper's Polish lover

cheesesarnie · 12/04/2010 14:07

he was a bit lovely

LouMacca · 12/04/2010 15:06

Of course the killer nurse in Holby! - thanks cheese.

skymoo · 12/04/2010 18:18

you are not alone Lizzylou

Remotew · 13/04/2010 12:02

Is she still in corrie as the hairdresser?

satc2bringiton · 13/04/2010 18:50

Yeah she was in last nights corrie.

satc2bringiton · 18/04/2010 21:00

Part 2 starting

poshtottie · 18/04/2010 21:14

Poor Betty.

I am secretly hoping ds never wants to leave home.

lottiejenkins · 18/04/2010 21:43

I saw this on stage years ago. Doreen Mantle(Mrs Warboys from One foot in the Grave) played Betty. She was excellent!!

jonicomelately · 18/04/2010 22:38

Does anyone agree that part 2 not a patch on part one?

wubblybubbly · 18/04/2010 22:43

Nope joni, I loved part 2, cried my eyes out.

jonicomelately · 18/04/2010 22:45

Didn't watch the end because it was annoying me so much. I completely loved part one. Just thought this week was clunky.

Valpollicella · 18/04/2010 22:46

So, so sad in parts!

But really, would you go sit on the roof? And threaten to jump?

And then all be ok for the reveption a bit later on? hmmm

jonicomelately · 18/04/2010 22:48

Yeah, I gave up after she'd sat on the roof. Was she supposed to be having a complete mental breakdown?

Valpollicella · 18/04/2010 22:54

Just the oss of an output fpr her love as Mark was moving to Oz...

But still a bit extreme. And she suddenly recovered from her utter breakdown to make it back to the wedding....

Could have been better. First part so so fab...

HinnyPet · 18/04/2010 22:55

DH and I thought she was going upstairs to commit suicide, but we quite enjoyed the ending.
Agree that last weeks was way better!

wubblybubbly · 18/04/2010 22:57

See I didn't really enjoy the first part, just couldn't get how she could fall for such a bullshitter. Dunno, must be a long time since I was young and starry eyed.

muggglewump · 18/04/2010 22:58

Total letdown.
I loved the first part but that was just pants.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 18/04/2010 23:12

I really liked it, enjoyed it beginning to end.
