If you don't watch much tv - what DO you watch?

bibbitybobbityhat · 10/04/2010 20:07

I hardly ever watch tv.

I watch The Apprentice (all of). Secret Millionaire (sometimes). Location Location (sometimes). The Wright Stuff (sometimes). Occasionally the News on Beeb 1 at 10pm. Family Guy (quite often).

The last series I watched all the way through was the Gene Hunt one before Ashes to Ashes - name escapes me atm.

Am I missing something?

I don't do soaps or skating on ice or searching for Dorothy type programmes.

This is what I like at the mo if anyone's interested :

Country House Rescue

Reruns of Grand Designs

last 10 mins of channel 4 news

used to watch Corrie but really gone off it-way too much Steve and Becky.

Countryfile

Apprentice when it's on

Anything vaguely sciencey, dispatches sometimes, horizon if it's interesting.

I'm turning into my dad, reading back on what I've just written!

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 11/04/2010 14:51

What do I watch? erm. warehouse13, bones, supernatural, dr who, poirot, miss marple - the proper one, with joan hickson, not the abominations made since. music, news, documentaries.

I detest soaps and reality or celebrity stuff.

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 11/04/2010 14:52

oh yes, comedy - scrubs etc. I watched a few episodes of Mash recently too.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 11/04/2010 14:57

I don't watch much live tv but have bt vision and watch various series of things as they come on there. 24, Prison break, lost, the wire, house etc.

Kathyjelly · 11/04/2010 15:02

The first three minutes of whatever's on after DS has gone to bed. Turning off the telly is dp's job.

Caz10 · 11/04/2010 15:13

Desparate Housewives
The Good Wife
Gossip Girl
Heroes
Brothers and Sisters
Flashfoward

ALL on Sky+, NO idea when programmes are really on, I hate the ads and love being able to fast forward through them.

I also have a DH who will happily watch utter tripe - drives me insane - I just switch on and go straight the planner, unless I watch the news for 5 mins!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 11/04/2010 15:39

Caz! Get your arse to PN thread to update us all forthwith young lady! (it's clairey btw)

serenity · 11/04/2010 15:51

At the moment I'm watching (as in following episode by episode)

Doctor Who
Flashforward
CSI (Vegas and NY)
Fringe
Bones
House
Heroes
Supernatural
Vampire Diaries
The Mentalist
White Collar
Castle
NCIS

I'm quite predictable in my tastes! Most of this I watch during the day when the DCs are in school (I work evenings) and a lot of the time I'm doing something else at the same time.

Rockbird · 11/04/2010 15:52

Eastenders
Come Dine with Me
Great British Menu
Anything with Ruth Watson
One Born Every Minute
The Apprentice

That's it.

moondog · 11/04/2010 15:55

TV is depressing.
I'd feel like I was wasting my life if I sat down of an evening to actively watch it. I'd prefer to do stuff than watch others doing it.

Am very partial to YBF however and watch that with the kids when I remember.

Thediaryofanobody · 11/04/2010 16:06

I watch Lost,Ashes to Ashes and Grand Designs. Occasionally I have a look on BBC iplayer for something to watch but I often go for months without watching TV, and I cant bare it on as background noise. DH on the other hand likes it on as background noise and sky+ a fair bit so he keeps a TV in the office so I and the DC don't have to listen to it.

TheArsenicCupCake · 11/04/2010 16:10

Greys anatomy
cougar town
the odd film
a bit of news

Caz10 · 11/04/2010 16:38

Hellooooo Clairey!!! On my way!!

Moondog, do you have the energy come the evenings though??!! (I am just jealous btw!)

moondog · 11/04/2010 17:00

It's not really a case of energy, it's that there is so much else to do-housework, homework, cooking, phoning famly and firends, answering emails, catching up with bits of work ,geting ready for the next day.

I can't really work out how people find the time to sit down for a few hours. I can't. It's just a constant battle against time in my house.

Caz10 · 11/04/2010 17:04

Oh I hear you! And understand now what you mean! I tend to watch my TV after about 11pm which is not ideal, but just as a 20 mins switch off after work (I have a lot of work to do for work in the evenings iyswim). It can take about 3 nights for me to watch a full episode! It's a treat to me now, hence the no-drivel rule.

Vaz, I suppose my MNing functions in the same way.A bit of switch off time at the end of the day.It feels more friendly than tv and with my dh away for long periods of time, it is company in a way tv never is.

moondog · 11/04/2010 17:10

Sorry, Caz.

DramaInPyjamas · 11/04/2010 17:16
